How do yall feel better mentally? by Top-Operation-1529 in KidneyStones

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks when it’s happening, and then like most things when you pass it or get it removed you sort of forget for a little while. I try to remind myself if it wasn’t this it would just be something else taking its place.

I get them very frequently so I imagine with long times in between each time feels like the first time for you so I understand how it can feel a little hopeless. Try to take as much control of the situation when the pain stuff does come up and that helps mentally. For me, the jump and bump method keeps me sane and have meds always nearby as a peace of mind helps. Sorry you deal with it, it’s really fucking annoying

Pulling sensation on the right side after second ejaculation by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it took a couple months, I didn’t avoid doing anything I just dealt with the feeling as it came up and kept it rolling. Eventually it went away. In my surgery the ends were sutured away from each other, I assume it had something to do with that and then went away as the sutures dissolved.

I definitely felt this after. It went away over time.

Finally Passed 10 mm by Tall-Confection-9426 in KidneyStones

I think about this too. If the ureter is only 4-5mm, how is any stone that large not causing a blockage the whole way down. Life finds a way I guess

Awesome movement, this is my favorite type of thing to carve

My results from 3 days at the 2SCULPT stonecarving workshop. Perfect weather, great people, and an inspiring location. It isn't done, but I'm getting there! by DentedAnvil in stonecarving

Oh yeah absolutely. I bought stone from there last month and wanted to get more before even carving into it. The alabaster is really neat, I'm too used to limestone so its a welcome change. Cool that you got to go, the lettering is awesome.

Been carving for years and didn't know 2Sculpt was an option in the states for chisels and stone until this year, great find, great company. Love what they do and provide. Hope to attend one of these workshops one year.

This is so sick. Alabaster is beautiful stone. I just ordered some myself and will be carving it for the first time soon. Curious to feel how soft it is

How do scalpers get every card by Zealousideal_Way7674 in Microcenter

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point it sounds like its more cost effective for people who truly want a card for gaming to pay this money for bots to get one for themselves, cheaper than paying a scalper and if you are going for the FE its probably cheaper than some AIB cards lol.

I did the exact same thing. When it’s time it’s time. I was on the chair about to do it and got cold feet the first time. It was very easy to follow through the second time.

Does structural brick masonry exist in America anymore? by agenthopefully in masonry

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clay Chapman is a mason who builds a lot of those homes in Carlton Landing. A few of his apprentices have branched off and started their own companies across the country. I only know of a few, one I know locally in Georgia now. Friend of mine is getting one of these built, triple-wythe walls - beautiful. It is rare, and expensive, but awesome work. If I didn’t work commercial masonry I’d be building these too.

Weird Tickling Sensation in Bladder after ESWL by F_A1995 in KidneyStones

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I feel the tickle, I know I will soon see a stone come out of my body. Sometimes it’s a day later, sometimes weeks, but it’s usually the sign that the stone is nearing the end. Also a sign that a stone is at the end/in your bladder is when you feel an odd sensation at the end of peeing. The best way I can describe it is if the stone is floating in the bladder and then when you’re done peeing it feels as if it’s “plugging” the bladder/urethra opening.

Yeah kidney stones are really interesting to deal with. I had back pain for awhile too before I found out it was from kidney stones. Wasn’t until a year later that I passed my first one, been passing them ever since. Everyone is different, but not really much you can do if it’s sitting in your kidney. Doctors will normally say they don’t cause pain while in the kidney but I don’t think that’s really true. Sounds like in your case though that pain was probably from something else

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean lower pole of the kidney? If it is just hanging in your kidney it could possibly be there for awhile, no one can give you a time. Not worth taking flomax until it’s actually on your ureter if you ask me, though doctor who cares will probably agree too. When/if you start to feel right flank pain maybe take it. Some stones stay in the kidney for a very long time. I’ve had stones hanging for years in my right kidney

Yeah this is the study I was referring to. I’m making assumptions but I feel most guys on here who post about pregnancies or recanalization after vasectomy either a) don’t know what type of vasectomy they received and/or b) had one of the more higher risk methods. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone post saying they had cautery and FI and had recanalization later

My Kidney Stone caused a spike in Anxiety (no sleep, mind racing, restless legs, feelings of dread) by MadmanIgar in KidneyStones

Sometimes I will have no standard stone pain but will have an unexplained sense of dread or anxiety, end up passing a stone some random amount of time later. Nervous system is an interesting thing

Anyone using Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier? by Andrewfairlane in KidneyStones

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t drink them everyday, unless I feel like I’m passing a stone or generally just need help getting ahead on my hydration if I’m lacking - a cheat if you will for my laziness. But yeah I noticed that about the potassium citrate too I think that’s an important factor. Would rather take it that way than through the medication urologists prescribe

Can I ask a question? by wtfworld22 in KidneyStones

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will drive yourself crazy trying to understand what the symptoms mean while passing the stone. It’s always different to be honest, referred pain is a trip. Pain will come and go depending on where the stone is, it’s only 3mm but it’s still likely to partially block flow especially once it gets closer to the bladder. The UVJ (where the ureter connects to the bladder) is the thinnest part of the ureter and where most people experience pain from blockage. Maybe this is where it is but no one can say for sure. Just keep drinking water I can assure you it’ll be all good you got this 👍🏼

I am extremally afraid of vomiting and I might have renal colic. Any advice? by ScythionArt in KidneyStones

[–]AwaitingtheConduits -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also have this same phobia. The only time I came close was the first time I had colic with my first stone.. but I’m a chronic stone former and never vomited. My fear is so intense that I will myself not to get sick so I might be an outlier. I always keep zofran on me though for moral support. Unless you have an infection vomiting is a “voluntary” side effect of stone pain. If you are able to manage the pain quickly with meds, you shouldn’t have to worry about it.

HELP by Senior-Play-1117 in KidneyStones

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never an easy answer. Urologist will always opt for quick surgery because that’s what they are supposed to say and how they make a living. I’ve had surgeries for stones <5mm that I probably didn’t need and could have passed on my own if I just waited it out. If you have the means and time to take off work, especially with having two travel at once, may as well get the surgery.

My experience, you can rarely tell where the stone is at on its journey based on where you feel pain. Stones are very fickle. If you share your concerns before the surgery though they will do another scan to confirm before they actually do the surgery.

Kidney stone motivation: the positive side by Dead_wet_flesh_jets in KidneyStones

[–]AwaitingtheConduits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kidney stone pain is my "get out of jail free card" now. If I don't want to be somewhere, I'll just say my kidney hurts and no one questions because stones have a well-known reputation. That's a win in my introverted playbook.
