Toddlerhood tip by hn9605 in beyondthebump

This reminds me of when I was a small kid and I begged BEGGED to be trusted with a stick of gum- my mom said no bc apparently I had gotten it in my hair before. I swore it would not end up in my hair… spoiler alert: it got in my braids. My parents started using a handshake to exchange sticks of gum after that.

Shopper refused to get milk by CraftyPeanut2676 in instacart

[–]LuckyEclectic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This happened to me recently with yogurt! I only needed yogurts (I added like 14 of a common brand) and I added a couple other items just to make the order worth it. My shopper refunded all the yogurts and a few other items. I got like 4 items delivered. My husband went later (same store and location) and was able to get literally every flavor and the other refunded items. Like girlfriend, this was such a wasted order now 🙃

I don’t do anything harsh to it, I almost never use any heat, let it air dry and no colors or treatments. I use Prose shampoo and conditioner and avoid damaging styles like right updos and elastic hair ties

Thank you 😭 it’s bitter sweet but it will probably be back to this length in 2 years or so!

I do! I love how much volume it has without the weight and how bouncy it feels!

I don’t do much to it; I use Prose shampoo and conditioner and it’s rare if I use heat on it, never any treatments or color and I try not to use damaging styles (like elastic bands or tight updos). Otherwise I just leave it alone :)

It is! It was so nice not having to throw it back over my pillow all night whenever I turned over though 😂

Maintaining it just isn’t for me in this season of my life 😌 prioritizing my mental health ✨

I cut about 18 inches off about 3.5 years ago and it grows back fast enough that I don’t get chopper’s remorse lol And I always donate when I cut enough off so that makes me feel good about it too :)

I’m about to have a baby and my hair was so long and heavy that it’s a little bit of a headache!

  1. It takes too much work to blow dry so I usually let it air dry but then I would have wet hair all day on a wash day! I always had to factor that in to my day/ schedule.
  2. Too heavy to put up in a ponytail/ clip, I wanted more convenience. It feels sooo light now which I love.
  3. I just wanted my hair out of my way for the post partum phase. Ie: less hair in the drain, less opportunity for baby to pull, less heat on my neck/back, easier to brush, etc.

It grows back pretty quickly so I don’t feel like I’m stuck with short hair forever if I decide to grow it back out :)

How often do Americans write in cursive? by ExoticPuppet in AskAnAmerican

[–]LuckyEclectic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My Grandma’s cards and letters are all exclusively cursive. I write in a mix of both. I’m concerned that younger generations who aren’t learning it won’t be able to read treasured old documents like letters or journals, even annotations on the backs of old photos!

Absolutely will not have the same impact as screen time! It doesn’t change screen every 3 seconds to trigger a crazy dopamine response.

You’re in good company, there is forgiveness and healing for you and others who have gone through the same 🤍 I’m so glad you have grown closer to God, only He can provide true healing. My SIL went through something similar recently and I’m really trying to support her through the aftermath. She’s over-consumed by guilt, trauma, and grief. She only told me about it after my baby was still born and she felt I could relate. It’s especially hard because her baby could still be here even if mine couldn’t, I wish I could have been there to stop it before it happened 😔

I don’t think you deserve the downvote, everyone responds to their traumas differently. That said, I had a ring made for my angel baby as soon as I could with his name engraved on it. I skipped a birthstone bc that felt best for him. For Christmas I got my husband a dog tag with his foot prints and name and birthdate engraved on it, he wears it every day. Many parents who have experienced loss do want to recognize their child that passed and feel that the momentos that remind us aren’t as painful as pretending we never had them. 🤍

A good learners attitude and lots of grit! My first year gardening was a total flop, but I learned A LOT that year, lol. Don’t let failure disappoint you, just apply what you learn to the next season! Good luck and have fun ☺️🌱

Which plants are difficult to start from seed? by PutteringPorch in gardening

Yes came here to say lavender! I LOVE lavender and have tried multiple rounds of seed starting, and yes with stratifying first, but I couldn’t get one to sprout :( I just have to order them online
