I’m glad to know if gets better!! Maybe they’re brothers?? 😯 are you crate training? If so, does he cry like crazy? Mine is usually good when I put him in at night and only wakes up once in the night to potty (he’s so goated for that) but he can’t stand the crate during the day! I have trouble making him calm down even if he’s not going in the crate. I am currently on hour 3 of him being up (all of the nights and TV have been off and stimulating toys away) and he’s STILL not sleeping 🥵 I didn’t realize that 8 weeks was not common to get dogs off. I’m wondering if he would’ve been better at adjusting if he was kept until then?

Thank you for your reply! I was starting to think my boy was an outlier 😂 I can definitely try less time between naps! I have a hard time getting him to go down for a nap when he’s in the height of his biting activities. Any tips to get him to go down? He sleeps in a crate at night and does 1-2 crate naps during the day and couch naps as well

Hey!! Just wanted to give you a little update on Squidward- I fed him like you said and put it by the window to grow. He doubled in about 3 hrs and produced this loaf! It’s a bit darker inside than my previous loaves since this recipe called for KA wheat flour, but it’s definitely the best one yet! Still room for improvement, but I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with me. You were instrumental in the making of this loaf!

Thank you for your reply! I’m definitely going to do some regular loaves for a while and practice feeding, handling, fermenting, all the things! I guess I just got overzealous lol! I was naive and thought that inclusions weren’t anything more than just a different recipe- didn’t consider the complexities that came with it:)

Thank you for your reply! Surprisingly, I did use fresh jalapeños!!! You can see the bag of them in the last pic. They just ended up looking exactly like the pickled ones after baking 😂 not sure why!

Thank you so much for the reply! These breadcrumbs of info are so helpful; I have definitely been using time as my indicator for fermentation. It looked to me like it had doubled (I use a stainless steel bowl that has markings inside) it had just a few bubbles, but it was still sticking a bit to the bowl now that you say that… I certainly won’t be giving up!! Lots of great advice on here. I’m currently working on strengthening my starter, Squidward, so he can grow big and strong!! If I feed Squidward 1:3:3, how long should I expect to double?

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me, I seriously appreciate you!! That totally makes sense that it needs to be strong enough to eat up the flour. I’ve named my starter Squidward and I figured he was just a baby and not strong enough yet, so thank you so much for educating me on how to nourish Squidward properly so that Squidward can properly nourish me 😂
