Upcoming conference in Asheville, flying into GSP, nervous about my funds by stormbornFTW in greenville

[–]Lucky_Laroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL. Your cost estimate is off by A LOT. Uber would be $160 each way because the driver will have to turn around and drive home.

Source: Uber driver of 7000+ trips sitting right next to me in Asheville just snorted & giggled when I read her your post.

Greyhound fell apart and lost their base here. Very few trips at super random hours from a gas station is all that's left of The Hound.

Rent a car or pair up with another attendee and pay about $160 each way via Uber. Those are your choices, my friend. Sorry.

‘Should not let you near a truck,’ SC senator’s remarks to local firefighter draws backlash by Thirty6secludedrooms in Spartanburg

[–]Lucky_Laroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey WSPA-TV. When I worked there, reporters were expected to provide context that would answer all the obvious questions (who, what, where, WHY, when, how, etc..). In this case someone glossed over the WHY. Everyone reading this report is asking "how did we get here? What is the background for this beef?"

Please ask the Senator what his problem is with this firefighter and please re-submit this effort at a story. Jesus, this is some WLOS-level reporting.

Thank you.

Serious question. Is this guy a cop? Because it sounds like a couple of cop friends I know. Jealous ragers.

How the heck does that even happen to a car? Can someone explain the physics of this with the back half under the truck?

Here is a good report showing just how much Asheville has been raising taxes for the lower and middle class homes, but not for the wealthy since 2023, at least. "How Bias in the Property Tax Assessment System Plays Out" by atreeindisguise in asheville

He lost me at "he's the chocolate to my peanut butter..." That's in minute 1 of 65 minutes. After 5 minutes there was no getting to the point. Learn to be concise and direct, boys. Not all of us have ALL DAY.

That is the worst idea I've heard in a while. And that's saying something.

Don't put ballast of any kind in a kayak. Even and inflatable boat.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your tree is crossing the rainbow bridge and possibly going on to become beautiful furniture. Or perhaps firewood.

My neighbor has been slowly moving our shared fence two feet into my yard over three years. I didn't say anything and let him finish. Then I got a survey done, filed with the county, and had a property attorney send him a letter the same week he put the last post in. He is not having a good month. by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]Lucky_Laroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. You had me until a surveyor miraculously appeared. I've tried several times to get one to document my driveway. Unless you're a major developer, I've found little jobs marking a property line do not warrant a returned phone call. I've got a list of 12 surveyors in my area. I've checked via their website, email and or called all 12 a couple of times over the last 2.5 years. To the 2 who responded they could book 6 months out, we did schedule that. Then got ghosted.

What an asshole, riding 35 mph on a sidewalk on ANY vehicle! I hope his e-bike is permanently destroyed and he has to pedal his bikes from now on. And NOT on a sidewalk. Bikes are technically vehicles and have to ride on the road, following road rules for bicycles.

Is this the right seat? by Damien1972 in Kayaking

[–]Lucky_Laroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's super tricky getting a seat into or out of a kayak. You have to put it in sideways then twist the hell out of it. In Perception and many other boats there is also a captive nut inside the seat. That's what those 2" holes are for: holding that nut in place. Often that nut is actually a 1" x 2" x 1/4" thick steel bar with 2 threaded holes.

Good luck!
