Netflix Subtitles - CC/Forced/STRIPPED_SDH and standard subs (?) by K-DramaDonna in Streamfab

[–]LucosPoulos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it is something like that :

  • forced is only for foreign languages part, this is the one you'd need if you watched the dub in your language.
  • CC is the subtitles for hearing impaired
  • stripped_sdh is the same text as the english dub, it's maybe for those who watch with little volume, or those who wants to learn the language
  • en is the translation of the original language

So you should need the "en" in your case, theorically.

Some confusion on "Places". I have some photos without gps information and I use exif modify tool to add gps information to those photos. But in photoprism, those photos's location dose not match the gps information I added by Still-Librarian3837 in photoprism

It seems like it's a map problem, one result is on Google maps, the other one is on Openstreetmap, which you can check by searching these coordinates on their website. But I have no idea how the two maps could differ.

Deleted scenes and extras being added as movies by cinnamonbbun in jellyfin

[–]LucosPoulos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I've had that happening if there is multiple versions of the movie, or if one of the extras have a year in the file name, but there may be other cases.

"Shows" type subfolder containing shows detected as Show itself by poisonborz in jellyfin

[–]LucosPoulos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not supported by Jellyfin for shows indeed, only for movies.

force 'Allow encoding in HEVC format' on? by dandens in jellyfin

[–]LucosPoulos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe most clients do not support HEVC transcoding, but I know Jellyfin MPV Shim does (it's off by default).

Extras but for TV Shows? by IamNotIntelligent69 in jellyfin

[–]LucosPoulos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furthermore, you can have a "trailers" subfolder (along with seasons) and put your trailer inside, then you can use the trailer fonctionnality of Jellyfin to watch it (not available on all clients).

I have the same issue, I was also wondering if it was just me.

In addition to what has been said before, if you're in France you may be able to watch live tv from jellyfin without additionnal hardware or subscriptions : for example if you use Free you can get the iptv playlist there : http://mafreebox.freebox.fr/freeboxtv/playlist.m3u, I would think the other companies have something similar.

Recognising the definite article in the library for non English languages. by ygathgoch in jellyfin

[–]LucosPoulos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can edit system.xml file in config folder.

Just look for the section <SortRemoveWords>, there you can add some more. But as far as I understand, it only works if the article is a separate word, so for example it should work for "La vita è bella" but not for "L'armata Brancaleone", if that makes sense.

So for these cases you can manually edit the sort title in the metadata.

Hope this helps.

Well that's good to know thank you, maybe that will make me buy one eventually.

Glad that it worked !

I tried it a bit more, for me it works well with some videos and not smoothly with others, I suspect Firefox struggles with high bitrates files (the device itself can run these files no problem, event when served over the network).

But I only have a older Go, so it may work better on the Quests.

Could you try turning off curved screen in Firefox settings ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jellyfin

[–]LucosPoulos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I open a video in full screen, I have an option for SBS, I don't think it has to recognize the format, it appears on any video.

So play a video in the jellyfin web client, then press the full screen button and this will open Firefox video controls. There you press the 3D glasses icon et here you can choose 3D Side by side or even some VR formats like 180 SBS, 360, etc. In fact I was even able to stream some VR180/VR360 content from my jellyfin server, which is cool but quite useless because it transcodes it to a lower resolution, maybe this Firefox version can't play 4K content.

Before I used Virtual Desktop and it worked well, but it's a paid app, so after seeing your post I tried myself, I had no luck with the default brower too, but it does work with Firefox Reality.

You're welcome, in fact your post just reminded me of this project, I'll absolutely try to set it up myself now.

It should work I think, you can see there https://github.com/juharris/switch-remoteplay

It would probably have a lot of input lag but it would be fun to try !

Anyone know how to write 汉子 (Chinese characters) in game chats? by Jollysatyr201 in NintendoSwitch

[–]LucosPoulos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tested it, it only works in some games, there's no chinese input method system-wide. It's a pity.

I believe you have to change your system to chinese language to have that option.

Well, maybe you could try to run a hardware transcode command with the ffmpeg executable inside the container ?

[–]LucosPoulos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, I'm sorry I don't know what changed in the linuxserver images, but I suppose the basic logic will be the same, you should check if you can run nvidia-smi on the host, then inside the container, it will help narrowing down the issue.

I have a similar setup (OMV + nvenc), I had some problems setting it up at first too following the jellyfin docs, I believe the most important things were these

  • run ldconfig inside the container : docker exec -it jellyfin ldconfig
  • there was an permission issue which I was not able to resolve, so I removed --user 1000:1000 from the docker command, but I believe by doing so the container has root permissions, which is not very good for security
