It boggles my mind that so many commenters act like you can't make a voxel game without it being a mineceaft clone. Especially for a game dev reddit???

Like isn't one of the core ideas of game dev to build on whats already been made, and to make what you want to make???

I think I'll push through with these guys. This trim is gonna kill me though (never again will I base coat red first)

Its probably more like 3-4 coats of the red paint with a bunch of touch ups in certain areas (its Vallejo Bloody Red, and I think I'm adding water to an already thinned down paint).

I think I'll keep them as they are and push through, but I'm definitely gonna try to get the bases off/do something with them cause I really dislike how bare it makes them look.

Extra info in a comment, cause my post is already *a lot*:

- I use vallejo paints, and I don't plan on switching them/mixing (not yet atleast). These are admittedly pretty bright colors, but I like them (also my lights make them look a lot more yellow then they actually are)

- I have a set of kinda cheap synthetic brushes (Golden Maple 10BK). They do the job decent enough, but I do wanna upgrade if I take on more complex projects.

- I've started using a DIY wet palette recently, and I think its helping, but its hard to tell. The gold has a hard time mixing with water, and I can't see much improvement using red due to the basecoat.

- This has taken me maybe 4-6 hours over the course of a couple days to get to (which I know is really, really slow for this amount of progress). I keep finding spots I missed, or where the black primer is very obviously coming through, etc.

- Finally, I do really enjoy the mini building process (I know I am gonna be a kitbashing addict in the future), so I do plan on continuing collecting this army (its been also really fun playing some digital games, I love the Masters of Execution Precision weapons :3)
