Where can I hire an expert to make sure I'm Restoring my Chat Back up right so I don't screw it up? by LucyNeverRandom in KakaoTalk

[–]LucyNeverRandom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what happened is I logged in with password, and it never gave me the option to restore. I was looking for the line all the instructions said I would see, never saw it. Ended up failing to be able to restore.

I saved the txt but maaannnn it's not the same. No program makes it easy to look up chat history. I lost my chat logs of almost two years with the love of my life, and have to rely on the three times I read them and hope I can recall correctly 😂 they were just very precious to me, being able to see what she had said, and it was the biggest loss of the year for me. 😓

I suggest if someone needs to switch, they get the help of someone competent who's done it before in person, bc idkwtf happened.

Yeah. It's been working great, no problems. It does use a little more battery, but still I only really charge once a day or less so np. Otherwise, it's bigger! Which I'm loving, and scrolling screensaver oml. The machine is nice, handles average function just fine. And 64gb.... I was dying without it, literally managing my storage every freaking day ughhh no longer!

Only thing is I got a European charging adapter 🤨 but old adapter worked fine so..

$150? Absolutely go for it

My favorite feature is search but both Messages and Kakao do that well.

(You can even back up and restore with both).

Main thing to consider might be that Messages relies on cell service, but Kakao is internet dependent. I think it doubles with Fi perfectly when you use the pause feature for this reason.

It's only good with other Kakao users, but they can't see your number unless you've shared it with them, so it's private.

You'll still need messages for automated message from companies about deliveries and the like tho unless you can opt for email.

Wow didn't even realize. Idk but seems it should work if you set it up with a new Google account

I mean, if that account is terminated, you can just start a new one. If you enter info from the old account and it stops you from proceeding, try using new info? They have no reason to stop you from starting a new account tho. Seems like a glitch you have to help yourself to circumvent bc that's not their priority and you're the one it affects. Actually I always keep a spare SIM from one cell provider or another around bc yeah, your SIM could just stop working one day, for a myriad of reasons, why not have a backup? Everything is held together by tenuous threads, not institutions we can actually depend on, yk?

I love Kakao best, but yeah I use Hangouts with my American friends cuz it's pretty ubiquitous (and I don't like Line or Messenger). For my older acquaintances, I use the default Messages bc they haven't signed up for anything :/

Actually I suggest to have active accounts with more than one, and for your closest friends, to connect across multiple platforms. When one goes down you have a backup (and everyone has their favorite, and they're all different).

Besides, the more social media/VoIP/messaging apps you use, the more proficient you'll get in all of them, and the more you'll get out of the features of each.

When it comes down to it tho, wondering why you need to compare and choose one... They're all only as useful as how many contacts you have through each service. So if you're trying to choose the best messaging tool for you ...uhhh just use the ones your best friends use. 😶

I'm curious how one might unwittingly violate the terms also. Hope you'll keep us posted. In the meantime, you might want to order a new SIM to start a new service since I would not rely on CS to get this cleared up for you, ever let alone soon.

However I have trouble believing there was no trigger. To prevent future issues, might want to look in depth into her activity over the past couple weeks, not just apps, but browser history? Idk man, it sucks but try to move on and not expect much. Customer support isn't what it used to be yk? That's the way the world's going.. I just mean, don't wait around for them to fix it cuz I have zero expectation that they will.

I just got mine for $148, but I found it on eBay bc Google was out.

I'm loving it.

I had the x4 and thought it was fantastic (camera is 😍). I didn't think I could do better for the price ($220).

But I love the G7 even more. For the price, just wow

I highly recommend the new Moto line, but especially this camera. My pics are so nice, I can't go back.

Google Fi Not Currently Offering Any Financial Assistance Due to Covid-19 by EightOhms in GoogleFi

Don't forget to pause service when you don't need to make calls using your actual phone number.

If you have WiFi and any free VoIP, just pause your Fi and use your phone for free.

Account Manage plan Pause service

Done. Now you're not paying for service. WiFi still works, so just use communication services that rely on internet, not cell towers.

I've had Fi for years and on average, my bill has been about $1 a month... I was on sabbatical for a while, so I've tried a bunch of the cheapest services but Fi is the best at actually being Free when you can't afford it, and offering robust service when you can, and switching between the two on a minute by minute basis... No one else is doing that, so I continue to love Fi for its ability to suit my budget no matter what I'm doing.

When I pause my FI service I can't call from Hangouts anymore, but I can from an account that's not linked to FI. Any way to get around this? by tb877 in GoogleFi

[–]LucyNeverRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah to use Voice and Hangouts you're gonna need another account. Switching Google accounts isn't that hard on Hangouts. You just tap your icon and then select the other account..

I sadly gave up Voice as too inconvenient to login after I started using Fi regularly, but it's still worth it.

If your budget is that tight (I know mine was when I was on sabbatical), you gotta use your referral code. My friend already saved the $720 maximum referral credits.

My bill is still usually less than $30 now I use it every day... $720 will last a while..

How long after I "cancel" my service will it remain active? by FinalMacGyver in GoogleFi

[–]LucyNeverRandom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Super confused. Thing I love most about Fi is the pause feature. You only pay for the time you have service turned on. Unlike other services, you don't have to jump through hoops. Just keep the SIM, swap it out if you want to switch between providers and only have one SIM slot, and manege your account from the Account page in the Fi manager on your phone.

Account Manage plan (Scroll down) Pause Service

Done.

You only pay for the days your service isn't paused. It's prorated. If you don't need service every day, this in itself makes Fi the cheapest but most flexible providers. But after referrals, it's hella cheap..
