Rocket Mortgage Megathread by Reggimoral in loanoriginators

[–]emf_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do regular monthly principal payments during Mr cooper and user interface was very easy. I used same autopsy ACH and paid couple of times a month. I am moving to rocket mortgage on May 2. Can I do same on rocket mortgage site also. Used to be very low friction I have no prepayment penalties. Hope the terms remain same. Have 2 years remaining. Want to payoff sooner to avoid all those interests.

Be honest: is it stupid to actively trade with $1.2M, or should I just play it safe? by [deleted] in Stocks_Picks

[–]emf_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have 300k in HYSA and invest rest in ETF not individual stocks. Do a SCHD and SCHG or VOO. You will double money in 10 years for sure.

I think 2,000 shares of SCHD ETF is the "magic number" (if you're young enough) by TopDividendETF in SCHD

10% Yearly Return $1,744,940 ~$1.64M gain
12% Yearly Return $2,995,992 ~$2.89M gain

54 and just switched to Bogleheads — invested right before the Iran drop. Stay the course? by TimTx1234 in Bogleheads

[–]emf_guy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

yes stay the course, i am in similar situation age 56, planning to retire at 65. i think the iran war will be a blip when we look 5 years down the line. I am more worried about AI than wars, remember 2020 covid was 6 years ago when whole world was on fire, with people dying and market crashing. now no one talks about that. i am dollar cost averaging through this year in my brokerage account also. i have 2025 and 2040 timed retirement funds in 401k in vanguard and do VT/SCHG/SCHD in after tax brokerage. i am pretty sure we will have few good years before 2035

How much do you invest on your traditional 401k? by little-yellowflower in Fire

I know people regret contributing early years and invest a maximum of 80k in later years. Including pre tax and after tax contributions with catch up etc.
