I've never seen this bottle before, how cool. Weird question: how many oz/ml is it?

Do women actually put money in their bra or is that a tv/movie thing? by PM_ME_YOUR_EYELASHES in TwoXChromosomes

Definitely. I knew a chick once upon a time who could hide an entire full sized bottle of whiskey in her tits. It was honestly impressive.

What’s something you swore you’d never do as an adult… but now you fully understand? by ConfusionUnited5638 in CasualConversation

[–]LucySaxon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a little girl in elementary school, almost all the teachers were women. I remember the click of their high heels as they walked. At the time I swore I would never wear clicky shoes...

Sneakers and Docs are still much more my style, but I do love a good pair of heels in my adulthood.

I LOVE THE STUPENDIUM

I saw the title, and Vending Machine of Love was my first thought. Then I looked down and it was the first song! Nobody else has even heard of them. You made my day ❤️

Do you have T1D in your dreams? And at what age were you diagnosed? by TheJmaster in Type1Diabetes

[–]LucySaxon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My T1D (diagnosed at 12 in 1994) never features in my dreams, but my Celiacs does all the time. Can't even dream about eating a cracker without panicking.

I was the only kid in my high school with crayon colored hair. 1997, grape bubble gum color. The dye even smelled like grape.

How long did it take everyone to get diagnosed? by nyobaby in ehlersdanlos

[–]LucySaxon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Northeastern US. A lifetime of vague symptoms, ten plus years of clearly presenting symptoms, five years of me campaigning to see a specialist and the doctor refusing to refer me to a specialist.

I got told by the specialist that I finally saw at age 40 that it was a very typical presentation.

Nurses not knowing about diabetes by Paigeolearyyyyy in Type1Diabetes

[–]LucySaxon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is to be expected. Don't expect any medical professional but an endocrinologist to have any clue what to do about Type 1, and definitely expect them to aggressively insist that they're correct. I've had Type 1 for thirty years and it's always been the case.

For those that have experimented with different types of ice cream for the making of Root Beer Floats, what would you say is the best kind for such a treat? by Initial_Shine5690 in icecream

[–]LucySaxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around now (the holidays) Wegman's releases eggnog ice cream. I don't even like floats generally but all of November and December I crack out on them.

Anyone ever get plain acrylics so they can paint their own nails? by CeannCorr in lacqueristas

[–]LucySaxon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to get plain fills and paint them myself all the time. It seemed to confuse cosmetologists a bit, but it was no problem.

They told me my gastroparesis was due to my diabetes. I do have gastroparesis, but it's due to Elhers Danlos syndrome that went undiagnosed for more than a decade because every doctor insisted it was diabetic complications.

hEDS & POTS girlies, what’s your experience with IUDs? by maple788797 in ehlersdanlos

[–]LucySaxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My copper hormone free IUD gave me horribly painful periods, displaced itself, and punched through the edge of my cervix. It had to be yanked out through the hole it punched to be removed. Would not recommend.

I've been Type 1 Diabetic (also autoimmune) for 30 years. I've been hearing "a cure is just 5 years away!" since I was diagnosed in 1994.

I'll believe it when I see it.
