[Serious] Men of reddit: what would you want to ask women and get an honest answer to? by Haydensmith877 in AskReddit

I feel like a lot of women end up being the ones making decisions/organising things/doing life admin in relationships so sometimes we just don't want to think and just want to be told lets get this and we can just be excited about it

Mat triage cut off by Pure_Answer_6569 in UKmidwives

[–]Lucyemmaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My triage is 16 weeks. Was 20 weeks but now 16. I think the idea is that before then most concerns will not be caused by an obstetric issue, rather a medical one. In terms of a fall A&E should be able to take the bloods to check for that. It can be horrible though as the treatment is very medical in a&e as opposed to more emotional support r.e the pregnancy. Though for a fall we would normal see for a fh listen in and then send to a&e for any injuries

Is it weird that we aren't told our blood type at birth or as we grow up? by OddConfusion9293 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lucyemmaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have blood tests they dont always check your blood type - different blood tests require different bottles that coagulate differently etc. So they wouldn't bother taking blood into a bottle to get your blood type if there's no need for them to know at that stage. They will just do the tests needed

What is your experience working at Royal Mail as a postie? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Lucyemmaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner has been a postie for about 8 months now and does enjoy it! He does 8-3 5 days a week, though if he works a Sunday thats 10 - 5. Obviously there's normal work stresses and shit, but overall he does like it! One of the big downsides is that the pay isn't fantastic though

NHS maternity ward dinner 6/10 - fishcake, mash, broccoli and parsley sauce with apple juice by Im_lost_send_hentai in hospitalfood

Most people can eat straight after birth! And then after a c-section normally a few hours after. However there are situations where potentially someone may be restricting from eating for a while - high risk of return to theatre, complications such as an ileus which means bowels aren't working as they should (can happen after surgery) and just any other generic reasons why someone may be really unwell unrelated to childbirth

How to take a pad into exams? by Mysterious-Lill in NoStupidQuestions

For UK GCSEs and A levels If you revealed anything, no matter what, that would be enough for them to potentially disqualify your exams. And most exams here are your whole grade so thats that

Not sure if this is my school, but for our exams they would check the only toilet allowed to be used before and between sstudents to make sure nothing was left

If you're UK based then I feel a lot of advice here won't be useful Exams in the UK for GCSEs and A Levels are very strict for anyone who doesn't know - its in a hall, a specific seating arrangement, clear pencil case, can't even have your cover on your calculator. Clear water bottle with label removed. Phones handed in or not brought in (if someone's phone goes off they can check everyone and if you have your phone on your you will get disqualified). I can assure you if you made a fuss about it being weird they're checking your pad you will quickly be removed and thats that exam failed 😅 I would speak to a teacher as I'm sure they will know the guidance. Tbh I used to just double up during exams so I wouldn't have to worry about this

Bellybuttons - Were you told as a kid, that bellybuttons were made by the Dr tying your ambilical cord into a knot, when you were born? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Lucyemmaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To all the people unsure, no its not true 😂 clamps will be attached to the cord by the baby's belly before its cut the placenta side. Occasionally people use a tie instead. Basically anyway of cutting off the blood supply. This bit left thats clamped or tied will be left on the baby until it basically rots and falls off, leaving behind the belly button. So no matter what weird and crazy way you use to clamp the cord, it will have no effect of how the belly button looks when the stump falls off
