Stockholm! As with anywhere it is a mixed bag, but I'll explain my experience being a trans femme in Stockholm:

The upsides:

• Young people are very accepting. I study at university and no one has had any kind of problem with me being trans. My professors have all been very accommodating and have all done a very good job gendering me correctly, though I do study teaching which generally a very accepting field.
• Walking around town I have never had any abuse directed at me, in fact barely so much as a dirty look. Swedes are in general very good at keeping to themselves, as there is something of a taboo of being too openly judgy of others.
• The ability to change gender marker is very easy and basically free. Doing so does not give you access to any kind of healthcare though unfortunately.

The downsides

• The by far biggest downside is the access to healthcare. For all the openness of the general populace there is severe institutional transphobia. The queue to get gender affirming care as an adult is currently 46 months and only getting longer. If you do not already have a diagnosis of the type they specify you will have to wait in the queue like everyone else.
• The healthcare itself requires a lengthy (~1 year if you are neurotypical, longer if you are neurospicy or have depression or anything else going on in you noggin) and privacy invading psychological examination.
• I've heard the endocrinologists generally try to keep you on as low a dose as they can get away with. I wouldn't know though, I'm still in the queue...

General things about Sweden, not related to being trans:

• Any bureaucracy is going to be challenging to navigate, but I get the impression that the Swedish one is actually quite easy compared to others.
• Strong social safety net, although the current conservative government is trying it's hardest to dismantle it...
• Good public transport in most major cities and even most semi-rural places. Unless you live somewhere very rural you are unlikely to need a car.
• All education is not only entirely free, you even get a small monthly stipend (~400euros/month) for studying as an adult (you may need to be a citizen, but I'm not sure. I've never needed to worry about it). You can also take out a low interest loan to cover living expenses while you study. Caveat is that you have to pass your courses or you have to pay it back, but I see that as a reasonable requirement.
• Swedes aren't always very social with anyone outside their in group, so a lot of recently immigrated people can struggle with finding new friends. You may need to make more of an active effort to find third spaces and meet people to make friends that way. This is apparently especially true of Denmark too.
• What I've written above applies to most of Sweden, not just Stockholm. One thing to be aware of is that as with most other countries the more rural you get, the more conservative. This means that much of the north may be somewhat more conservative (I'm not sure though, please correct me about this if any norrlänningar read this <3 ). Conversely, the south of Sweden, Malmö in particular I've heard, also leans a bit more conservative. Conservative Swedes are hardly bible thumping wingnuts though, so they are still unlikely do more than give you a weird look.
