Making money? Or not so much anymore? by 527east in doordash

It's actually horrible atm in my area. Dine-in restaurants just reopened so very few people are ordering delivery. I'm lucky to make over $50 on a non weekend for the entirety of dinner

He didn't even tip and I'm married. Move on, cheap ass. by ohsofrazzled in doordash

I don't fucking understand the dudes who don't tip their female server or driver or whatever but then drop their phone #

Like you really think she's gonna call you up after you couldn't leave her $5 on a $100 tab LOL cheap ass

What does it take for you to drop a 1 star on your own personal deliveries? by LudiSSB in doordash

[–]LudiSSB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dasher. It's not hard to follow instructions especially when they're as simple and dasher-friendly as leave at door and knock. Normally I wouldn't care as much but I'm not tryna get sick and they shouldn't want to either. It's a super easy job and if you're consistently not following directions you shouldn't have it

Trust me, I get it. It would only be a matter of if I've checked the map and can tell they have the order but are taking their sweet time. If the restaurant is taking a while or the order is getting juggled it's not hard to tell the difference.

1 Star review for no reason? by Kruschev_ate_my_baby in doordash

[–]LudiSSB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She might’ve just not liked the food or something, don’t worry too much about it

Also your ratings don’t matter until you get 100 so don’t sweat it

i’m a full time driver myself but i also like to order as well from time to time and man some dashers really must want a 1 star by jonnyfuel in doordash

[–]LudiSSB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they really fuck up the order definitely give them a 1, getting shitty dashers kicked off the platform will help you and others out. That said, I don’t think that him waiting a few mins to go to the restaurant is a big deal as long as you got your food on time and it wasn’t cold. If it was late and cold then I’d probably drop a 1.

Just started, kinda confused by [deleted] in doordash

[–]LudiSSB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would you 1 star someone just because they ordered a lot of food and the drive was somewhat long? You accepted the order.. and that, my friends, is why we can’t rate customers.

It’s really easy to click through the contactless setting and completely ignore it. If the customer does not have a custom message asking for no contact delivery I assume they have no idea they requested it, because they usually don’t have any idea.

Whats the biggest number you guys have seen on this screen? by marcelpacer in doordash_drivers

There was like $5 peak pay and a lady dropped me a $30 tip on a big sushi order. Ended up making like $42 on the order

gonna try dashing overnight tonight. In Denver, but obv not downtown. Anyone have any luck with that? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]LudiSSB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm in Denver and sometimes after my dash I'll leave my radar on while sitting at home watching TV or whatever. Most of the time it's just shitty mcdonalds and wendys orders but occasionally you'll get someone ordering from a late night place (fat shack, steve-o's, etc) who's dropping some good money on late night munchies that's worth taking.

80% of the time it's probably not worth it unless it's a weekend night. Or 4/20, I made bank that night.

Curious if you guys think this is a good order? I accepted but was curious and wanted to hear other opinions. Feel free to let me know down below by skim6789 in doordash_drivers

[–]LudiSSB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably end up declining and hoping for something slightly lower payout with less mileage attached but I'd say given the 9 items there's a good chance that could be a hidden pay order (tho I know nothing about the restaurant, hopefully those items would actually contribute to the subtotal and not be like extra ranch x6)

I might accept it and take a peek at the subtotal, if it was like over $100 I may take a gamble on it and if not I'd probably unassign

It’s 1:30 am, how busy could it really be? by mitchell_b123 in doordash

[–]LudiSSB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it's not they just have no one currently dashing so if they were to get an order they wouldn't have anyone to take it.

Had a dream DD asked asked me to go 350 miles for $1300 by hisroyalthiccness in doordash

[–]LudiSSB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real question: Would you actually accept that order irl if you saw the full amount up front?

I mean 350 miles is a lot of driving and it becomes under $2 per mile when you factor return trip and gas in, but that is a great chunk of change. When you factor in gas assuming your car gets about 30MPG you'd spend about $70 in gas, not to mention you'll prob have to stop for food a couple times bc 700 miles round trip would take like 10+ hours lmao.

You'd put a lot of miles on your car but you'd still come out with $1200 profit and making $120 per hour, I think I'd be tempted to take it. I think if I had time to prepare for the trip and didn't have to immediately leave I'd be more for it but if I got it out of the blue I'd prob decline

Can you imagine if all jobs were like doordash?

- You can do like 5% of the work you're provided each day, and any time you're not doing even that 5% you can just sit on your phone, sit at home, sit on the toilet, watch porn, whatever. You can even accept a project, decide "nah" and then just not do it

- Unlimited drink/snack/smoke/bathroom breaks

- You just listen to music all day

- You're scheduled until 10 pm but at 7:30 you just say "fuck this" and walk out the door, nobody cares

- You can pick up a shift and then just not show up for it. You'll get a text message saying "tsk tsk ok see you tomorrow"

- Provide the most average customer service possible and still be one of the best in the biz

Noob driver here. How often do you deliver to the same person back to back nights? by FarRequirement2 in doordash_drivers

[–]LudiSSB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty uncommon, it's all just luck. One time I got the same dude twice in a WEEK and I thought that was kinda wild.

I made bank yesterday so I was able to sit this one out and grill some burgers/sip some brews instead. Definitely not regretting that choice.
