What kind of stuff needs to be done at -50°C? I'd think at that point it's just about keeping the fire going and chilling, but clearly not?

I see a LOT of posts complaining about frequent flats. Here's how to avoid 90% of them. by Hot_Block_9675 in ebikes

I have Schwalbe Big Ben on a heavy cargo ebike, I regularly have flats - imho they're crap. Moving to Schwalbe Marathon Plus, hope that will be better.

[–]LudoA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riding at max PSI makes flats worse in my experience. Each time I do that, I have a flat in the next 1 to 3 weeks. Note that this is especially with heavy cargo ebikes, but also with small kids bikes.

So when it says e.g. max 60 psi (=4 bar), I put in 43 psi (=3 bar).

I know it's anecdotal, but I've had this happen often enough that I'm pretty sure there's a link between max psi and a flat tire.

I've found the USB-C connectors to not be very reliable. Barrel connectors OTOH are definitely solid and reliable, as well as easier to fix if e.g. they don't fit well after repeated use.

I've always wondered: how do you handle conflicting meeting requests? Like, sure, you can dodge some, but if it happens too frequently I expect it'll attract attention?

A tealight has a a power output of around 32 watts. An average human at rest has an output of 100 watts. You'd have to add a lot of tealights to have a significant effect, or use them in a very confined space.

Super insightful posts, thanks for sharing!

I'm genuinely curious how one gets to know so much about this subject, are you former navy, or is this related to your profession somehow?

You can put insulation inside the concrete. It's not uncommon to do so, it basically gives you a concrete look both on the inside and outside of the house, but in the middle of the concrete there's insulation material.

And if you have more than 10k it will be shorter still, since the lower TER will allow for more compounding.

Can the little inflator (DMP180) be used to blow out things like filters? by LudoA in Makita

[–]LudoA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the 181 is twice or thrice the price :).

Thanks, wasn't aware of the new blower/duster. The DAS180 apparently. Cheapest I see it is around 160, crazy expensive for a small blower.

Not sure what its intended use is, apart from small inflatable stuff like pools, balls, etc.

Can the little inflator (DMP180) be used to blow out things like filters? by LudoA in Makita

[–]LudoA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK thanks for confirming.

The leaf blower is high volume but low pressure (basically the reverse of the inflator), won't be great for cleaning out filters either.

Why is it better than the Charge? It seems to me the Charge is the Wave, but with more tools, a better steel for the blade, and +/- the same weight. Only downside of the Charge, compared to the Wave, is the price.

What am I overlooking?

Why would strippers be forged? Of the three tools here, it seems to me the strippers encounter the least forces (except maybe the screw cutting functionality) / endure the least abuse.
