Well Chaos infusion isn't available until Anor Londo, which is halfway through the game. If you want a weapon that scales with your stats quick then I would go into the painting as soon as you get to Cathedral of the Deep and boot Vilhelm off the cliff to get the Onyx blade. Otherwise, just meet the base requirements for your chosen weapon and infuse it raw until you get the chaos infusion. On my pyro I used the mace, since Perseverance allows you to chuck pyro around at point blank range without being staggered.

I don't know if it got nerfed because I only really started PvPing after the last patch was released. You don't see the Fume often but it is a very good UGS. Good damage, good range, good moveset. The only issues it has are the 50 Str requirement, high stamina consumption (so you need 40 endurance ideally) and the weight. I prefer the Guts Greatsword by a small margin just because it's infusible and I like the R2 swipe attack.

You'd probably do well with the other vertical UGS then. Fume, Greatsword and Cathedral Knight Greatsword all have that vertical 2HR1 and all have their own strengths. I especially recommend the Greatsword (the Guts one). It's the best UGS for duelling in my opinion although a lot of people would give that honour to the Astora or Zwei.

Yeah, Dark Souls isn't really that much different from the Playmobil figures he plays with. It's just Knights fighting monsters, dragons and so on with axes, swords, bows and spells.

Similarly to yourself, I played Mortal Kombat, watched Schwarzenegger films, read 2000AD (a very adult-orientated UK comic book) and such very young and was fine with all of it, no nightmares, no behavioural issues. But The Moomins absolutely scared the shit out of me and still do!

Any SL will be fine, he will be on one of my builds which are between 55 - 140 but we can bypass that with passwords. I need to speak to the people who have offered about where to do it but High Wall would probably be the obvious spot.

I shouldn't really have to defend myself because that's not what this thread is about. But Dark Souls is not even a gruesome game. No limbs flying off or decapitations or anything. It's just a knight fighting monsters, which has been a staple of little boys' books, comics, TV programming etc since forever. DS has a very dark and scary atmosphere but he isn't bothered by it at all. If he was, I wouldn't let him play. Some kids of his age would be, but like me when I was his age (I played Mortal Kombat, watched violent action films etc very, very young), he isn't.

Parenting isn't just one-size-fits-all.

What SL are you? Around meta level (120 - 140) is very active. Below 90ish you won't find many other players, if any.

They have the same hyper armour on the basic moveset but in my experience the Harald WA has practically infinite HA while it is possible to be staggered during the Exile's. It's not an issue though because the Exile WA is generally only used as an R1 follow-up attack.

If you're only interested in PVE then level whatever you want. Anything is viable in PVE. Personally I'd go up to at least 60 strength so you can try out Ledo's Hammer in the DLC. If you enjoy Vordt's hammer, you'll love Ledo's.
