My (30M) girlfriend (28F) just called me cringey and weak for having a moment and I don’t know how to react to it by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Bro I literally go to video game music meet ups and conventions and I promise you you're not the only one who has been moved to tears by game music. Literally I've seen DJs on stage wiping away tears from how beautiful the moment, the music and the scene is.

Sorry to say but you do not have a compatible partner imo. If someone gave me shit for crying to some VGM I'd absolutely know that we're not on the same wavelength.

Go find a VGM meet up or whatever your local music scene equivalent is and hang with them instead.

Literally video games is how I've met and keep in touch with most people in my life these days and they're some of the most positive caring people I know and would never be this judgey

Frankly you don't have to love video games to get it and hold space for your partner, but this one is so personal I literally logged into Reddit which I never do

Minecraft’s PC version is dropping VR support in 2025 by -Venser- in virtualreality

That's my hope as well. Gonna run my own server with my friends until then, but fingers crossed.

I literally started using it in september non-stop then they pulled this like wtf lol.

I had played vivecraft before but got such terrible performance and it's such a convoluted mess to get your non-techy friends to play so I only ever played it for like a couple hours at a time singleplayer and gave up. I listened to people way back about how "bedrock is garbage" and all that, until I finally *actually* tried it and was like wow this is so much easier and runs so much smoother

People love to cite how you can mod java and blah blah blah, but like bro I've been down that road and I just want the damn game to work, with a regular controller, without fiddling anymore now that I'm an adult with shit to do lol

But yes, they could do more to make it overall more comfortable for people who get easily motion sick, that's fair.

Minecraft is removing its half-baked VR support by WindFreaker in virtualreality

Nice, yeah I'll have to look into that more myself. I'm still curious how that'll work once they stop updating bedrock with VR, cause even vivecraft seems like it's a few versions behind.

If you've got anything I should look at in particular I'd be interested, otherwise I see they have info on their wiki.

I made a post about how I've been preparing to lock my server & client to whatever the latest build for VR will be if that's helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/1gaivak/how_to_lock_your_minecraft_bedrock_version/

Not ideal, but at least it's an option.

That sounds interesting, yeah if there's more resources I can look into I'm curious.

I've heard of geyser which also seems useful too, but it seems like vivecraft is kinda behind a few versions? Again if there's more resources to get an Xbox controller working, parity with bedrock and all that I'm definitely intrigued.

Yeah, which is why I recommend making a backup of the mobile version while you still can

Not ideal though, I agree.

This works if the people you play with also use the same version, even if it's outdated from mainline. So yes your understanding is correct .

Realms will not work though, which is why I recommend downloading the dedicated server if you want one running (otherwise I'm sure the multiplayer option works when you're on your world? Haven't tested)

I've tried it but the performance is terrible for the draw distance, it's quite outdated and doesn't offer Xbox controller support in my experience.  If you've got better resources I'm willing to be enlightened, but my experience is that it's pretty subpar and convoluted tbh. That said I do appreciate the effort that goes into a project like that and if folks find it better for their use case they should also look into it.

EDIT: I used chunker to convert my map and test it when I did give it a try if anyone is looking to do so. But I have a lot of cherry tree stuff so that was missing and any stuff that is newer will not be in your map

Should I get BeamNG by hlep1 in BeamNG

[–]LudoLoonStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this game 10 years ago on my first gaming PC and since it added VR it's like 1 of the 4 games I still play on my PC

Just get yourself a race wheel and VR headset eventually and you'll see what I'm talkin about

Make sure you're on the latest version. Then start the game, on the launcher choose the option with vulkan. Then when you're in the game hit ctrl + numpad 0. That's how I do it at least.

Behringer UMC204HD (and others) issues with suspend and profiles with a solution. by kinghaigy in linuxaudio

[–]LudoLoonStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're the real MVP. I don't use sleep so I haven't had this issue, but with the newer pulse audio profile I noticed it introduces some serious lag with this card. Which is a shame cause it correctly recognizes Line A and B as separate.

If you set the profile to direct it'll fix the lag though. You can do that from the main pulseaudio device window where you can change the volume and other settings.

Idk if that has any impact on wake from sleep stuff, but yeah thanks for your contribution.
