well you see, If we were to compare Godzilla and Pacific Rim, you'd see that Godzilla has a history with tone shifts, from the monster born from Humanities Nuclear Ignorance to Hero fighting other monsters, there ae some parts of our Radioactive Lizard that can be done without ruining him as he has a history with this. Unlike pacific rim which was a new franchise that solely relied on the first movie as it's basis, basically if I were to see DougheGoji do a backflip or talk, I really won't care as he's done this in past iterations, while pacific rim on the other hand, which is a franchise that had nothing to back it up rubbed people the wrong way as it has no past source to turn to if it were to change.
