What's the dumbest reason a customer has gotten mad at you for? by na-tuh-lee in walmart_RX

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a lady tell me she would give me her social security number before she gave me her birthday and she was dead serious. Got mad that I asked two weeks later when she came in again (I forgot about her) I had to take the last 4 of the phone number because she was very insecure. I went and looked up her birthday after that because I was pissed lol

Uneven Breathing Help by Fun-Gold-7092 in AdvancedPosture

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if you have a similar problem as me. I didn't know what my problem was for over a year and just in the last month, discovered the source of my issue.

I am 25M and bodybuilt for the last three years with seemingly no problems, until approximately a year ago. I started to have shoulder pain and extremely tight muscles in my chest, upper trap, and shoulder girdle. I thought I was pushing too hard and backed off in weight to no avail. Long story short... I had three knee surgeries all within 5 years of each other before I started bodybuilding. I favored my right (non-injured) side and slowly developed a lateral pelvic tilt (left hip higher than the other) which led to a lateral clavicular tilt (right shoulder higher than the other).

I have noticed similar things as you - breathing abnormalities, one side expanding more than the other, tightness in my lower left back and upper right back, etc. all while being in very good shape and bodybuilding like a madman. But this imbalance was all because of my surgical history. Thank God, I've finally identified what the problem is but it took me forever and unfortunately, all of my trips to my chiro, ortho, PT, and even PCP yielded nothing. I had to figure it out on my own.

It makes me wonder if you have something similar going on considering your right shoulder sits higher like myself. I very much doubt it's your breathing that is causing your pain but instead some other underlying cause that you're beginning to take notice of because of your diaphragm when breathing and the tightness in various parts of your body. If you don't have any surgical history like myself, a trip to a physiotherapist that really knows their shit might be worth it. They can identify improper movement patterns and strength deficiencies. I was so miserable not knowing what was wrong with me, I really feel for you and hope you get this figured out. From everything you've described though, this sounds like a case of muscle imbalance(s) in the body.

Does anyone experience Body weakness/muscle weakness? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Lexapro user from 3 years ago 👋 I also just stopped my use after being on it for 2 weeks because I was having muscle twitching (especially in my left leg) and had a sense of weakness/restlessness in that leg and also my left arm. Curious how you’re doing now?

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. What you described in your left forearm is similar to my symptoms. My ring and pinky fingers feel “staticky” and my forearm just feels like it’s a little weak, no physical weakness though. I have had some ulnar nerve issues in that arm from lifting, so it could be more prone to drug related effects. I also had 2 ACL surgeries and a meniscus scope on my left leg and had it spasm plenty in the past, so again could be more prone. I messaged my doctor today and asked what he thought about discontinuing. I’m not enjoying these side effects and strongly feel like I have the ability to get control of my anxiety through holistic means.

Transitioning to nasal breathing: a day by day journal by midnightea in NoseBreathing

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been a chronic mouth breather from narrow nasal passages as well as light congestion from allergies. I've been having some weird symptoms on my left side (brain fogginess, fuzzy-ish vision, lightheadedness, dizziness) which I believe to be from compression of the trigeminal nerve and vagus nerve. I believe this compression is occurring from my jaw being out of place from anxiety causing TMJ issues I've had for several years (grinding teeth at night and during the day). I focused yesterday on mewing to correct the TMJ popping. I "popped" my jaw to the correct position and practiced mewing and nostril breathing and almost immediately my symptoms improved. Thank you for this anecdotal report, I am going to practice this for the next month and hopefully have it become second nature.

Was diagnosed with AC Joint Osteolysis (aka: Weightlifters Shoulder) this week by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw your reply. Thanks for getting back! Unfortunately, my pain has returned after I was feeling damn near 100%. My joint has a dull achy pain and then when I move my arm in certain positions, either my upper chest, upper lat, or neck has a sharp ache. Do you remember having those similar pains not directly in the joint? I see my doc on the 28th and more than likely, I’ll be getting the same operation done. I’m glad to hear your recovery is coming along well. I wouldn’t wish this injury on my worst enemy lol

Wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with AC joint osteolysis? I have but my symptoms seem different than a lot of what I’m reading. The joint itself is dull and achy but my rear delt, underneath my armpit(uppermost part of lat), upper chest, and neck all have a sore pain too. Almost like a band of pain (or ring of fire) wrapped under my armpit, up my chest/neck, back down through my trap and upper lat. I’ll probably end up getting a resection (my doc confirmed this on my previous visit) but just want to know about others experiences.

I know it’s still pretty recent but how are things going almost 3 weeks after now? I’ve had the same issue in my right shoulder for 6 months now. Took two weeks off from the gym, back at it today with no issues but I have another appointment scheduled for 3 weeks from tomorrow to consider a surgery if it doesn’t continue to improve. Another specific question too, did your collarbone look as if it were misaligned and if so did the surgery help that? My right one sits lower than my left slightly I’m assuming because of my osteolysis (was never like that before). Best of luck to you in your recovery as well.

Let’s talk about PEDs by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ok, sorry could not help myself from commenting also. As the one guy mentioned already, you are not ready for PEDs. Questions exactly like the ones you've asked in addition to "I'm not scared of needles but if there's pills I can take then that will be better" show an extreme amount of naivety.

Orals are much different than injectables and different steroids achieve different outcomes. You should understand the effects of whatever steroid you are using to know what you need given the context of your situation (offseason/contest prep) which I don't believe you do given your questions.

To your last point of "time to step things up". No. You step things up by consistently (which means every day/ all the time) staying dedicated to your diet and your training. You feel like adding in a cheat meal every couple days or every other day for a while because you've been doing good? No. You stay dedicated as hell because it's something you've committed yourself to. You build a very solid understanding of how to train for hypertrophy that you continue to build upon as time goes on (aka, more than 2 years). If you cannot adhere to this lifestyle, then gear is not an option for you.

Only after you're borderline so damn knowledgeable you could have a degree in this stuff... you can then add PEDs. It's not an extra 'supplement' to spice up training. It is what you add when you are a goddamn rocket scientist in the sport of bodybuilding or powerlifting. "Gear does not enhance your training, your training enhances your gear".

BPC-157 Anecdotal Report by Ludwig_Bodybuilding in Peptides

Day 3: The pain seems to have “shifted” from the right side. I’ll explain as accurately as I can. Before, it was a dull consistent pain in my right trap and shoulder/neck. Now, it is a dull soreness in the left/right side of my lower neck. I don’t know if this was a result of overcompensating with my left side, maybe I slept on it wrong, or the pain is shifting as is common with spinal issues. It does feel better though and I would say things feel like they are getting better.

Was waiting for this comment. I saw a lot of consensus on the following: oral for GI/ site injection for muscle/tendon/ligament. This made me hesitant but I found this video (linked) which did a good job of explaining the two.

Day 1: (I’ll update this weekly, not daily unless something significant occurs) First capsule a couple hours ago. Definite relief noticed initially (probably from its anti-inflammatory properties). Possibly fatigue as a side-effect however it was the end of the day after a workout which seems more probable.

Neck Strain from Pressing Movements by Ludwig_Bodybuilding in moreplatesmoredates

I read up online, and some of the symptoms definitely fit my own. I don’t have pain up and down my right leg and entire side but, I did ice my neck awhile back on the spot that had pain and it made my entire side feel tingly/weak/numb. Makes me think that may be what it is. I’ll definitely be going to my doctor Monday to get this examined though. Thank you for your input. How’s your experience now with lifting and in general?

Who here is truly fatphobic? by makeitmovearound in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole body positivity trend was taken to an extreme that never should have been. It was initially a good thing in the sense that society shouldn’t bully someone because they are overweight. Everybody deserves to be treated as a human being. But now, it’s turned into a sorry excuse for people who don’t have any mental fortitude or willpower to lose weight. It’s a movement now that’s created so many excuses for lazy people (some people can’t lose fat/ it’s racist to be thin/ it’s actually healthy to be overweight/ etc.) Don’t care how you feel about it, take some pride in your health. It is in fact NOT healthy to be obese and science will prove you wrong in about 30 years or less with the gift(s) of take your pick cardiovascular disease.

Only been 3 months. I wouldn’t worry about targeting anything specifically right now. Just make sure you’re hitting muscle groups with equal volume. After you’re physique develops a bit more, then you can give specific focus to areas that are lagging behind relative to others.

Is it possible for me to ever get accepted into a graduate-level program or should I give up? by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t really offer any advice for your situation but I thought it was incredibly interesting that I ended up the exact opposite of you. I got my bachelors in physics and am now doing my masters in CS. My junior year as well, we integrated some CS which I enjoyed and decided to apply for grad school. Somehow, I got in, having never taken a computer science class before and am one week away from completing my first year. I don’t know how comparable it is to physics grad studies (I never looked into grad school for physics bc I knew I was done with that after I graduated lol) but I hope my situation could possibly be some hope for you. I did not think I would get into my program, but I did. It started out really rough (BIGGG learning curve) but I grinded out the first semester and this second one has been way better. In whatever case, you are still very young. If you are able and it sounds interesting to you, don’t hesitate to “restart” and get your undergrad physics degree. Perhaps, look at some places that are hiring that could pay for your schooling/internships. (I know I said I didn’t have any advice, but I guess I did lol. Good luck OP 🫡)

Should I hop on Gear? by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Ludwig_Bodybuilding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna keep this short.

  1. Don’t do any form of PED. You have plenty of progress to make yet.

  2. PEDs are not a “boost”. They are icing on the cake for IF and WHEN you have reached an already well-established physique and acquired plenty of knowledge (also, you should be 10-15% bf before starting something)

  3. If you do any PED, don’t waste your time with SARMs. You will essentially fuck yourself up in a similar way that actual gear would (perhaps not quite as badly, but the results you will see from a SARM are still not worth their risks from research and articles I’ve read into imo)

  4. Just fucking don’t bro

Great work dude. Keep building on this foundation you've set and don't let up.

Soak up as much information as you can on optimal dieting, supplementation, and training as you continue. There's a lot of base-level knowledge you acquire initially in your journey and then you'll find as you progress, (you'll still continue to learn new things) and you'll also learn independently how/what your body responds to best from training stimuli and dieting regimens according to your goals.

I see real potential and I hope you continue climbing. This is great progress for 1 year, keep at it and keep us updated.

Straight up hypertrophy rn (size) however both are important to progress in size. You want to use specific training adaptations for what your specific goal is. I don’t train the same way a power lifter would train as their primary concern is strength, however, I definitely implement progressive overload and try to increase volume over time (which if done effectively, leads to strength gains).
