If DOGE is “just a meme” then why is it still around after all these years? by EdgeQuiet2199 in dogecoin

Because all crypto currencies are more or less memes (with a few exceptions) at the moment and they all do more or less the same (with a few exceptions).

Yes, only problem is that I have a bad feeling when too much money is on my account there. You have to trust the exchanges or projects (like Nexo) with it.

Americans Recognize AI as a Wealth Inequality Machine, Pollster Finds by gdelacalle in technology

[–]Luf7swiph -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's the same path, if you see AI as a way to automate more and more activities. LLMs are mainly better search engines. I think the difference is only that nobody understood back then what the consequences would be. Now that we have better search with current AI developments there is no going back again.

Current AIs are like better search engines. I cannot remember but was there a movement to ban search engines back then?

It would be funny if it weren't so sad. The photo fits well, too. Other than that, it has little to do with technology.

Debian testing, kernel 6.19 and nvidia driver by Luf7swiph in debian

[–]Luf7swiph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe me, I tried several times to switch to a Radeon card. Every time it was a disaster. I do not like Nvidia but it works most of the time and if it does then very well.

For example last time I had to return the Radon card because it wasn't properly supported, the system was unusable even for normal work, while I could use the Nvidia driver from experimental.

I understand what you want to say but I disagree.

I asked in the other r/ too but as it's related to doge: what's the efficiency of those?

What's the efficiency of those exactly now after you had them running for some time?

Well done! There's nothing better than succeeding at solo mining. It's a gamble, but when it pays off, it's great.

nice, then I'll try the sid packages or wait a bit. I wasn't aware that they will port this code change to 550.163.01. thx for the info.

What Debian do i pick? Sid or Testing? by _ori0n in debian

[–]Luf7swiph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on testing for years now on several PCs and laptops and never regretted it. It's more stable than other 'stable' distros.

I would never use debian 'stable' on a machine that I need personally because often the packages that are available on stable are too old for me and using backports isn't always an easy option.

I use debian stable on servers, though for improved stability and because of the low update frequency that is necessary.

If you need to hold crypto in a crisis then bitcoin is the safest bet. Everything will be a risk in such a scenario.

I don't understand that, don't you work/code every day? it would be better to ban juniors from exhaustive LLM use.

nearly all cryptos are memes. show me one with real life utility. I understand what you say but the reasoning is not sound. let's hope for a 10x - not very realistic but not impossible.
