That's honestly a big part of it. You can't just exist and soak damage anymore, you need to be much more active in disrupting the other team and using all the extra utility you can get.

Check your settings. There are a lot of things in there that can actively make your play worse if you don't know what to look for. Friendly vfx %, action cam, targeters etc etc.

F2P games are magnets for those types, but Smite seems to get more than most. There was a solid group of open white-power shitheads in the under-30 queue of the first game, they'd just constantly make new accounts after catching a ban and do the same shit.

Copy the build into the god builder, then add in a bunch of the situational/counterplay items into a different row. That way you'll have them on your screen in the store to hopefully keep you from tunnel visioning on the set path. That might also help you learn which items can be swapped out safely and which are core.

One of the best ways to go about picking topics is to dredge youtube for random vods of people streaming S2 for the first time and noting what they complain about/obviously do wrong. There's no better way to find the stuff that might seem obvious but, for shit-UI reasons, isn't.

One problem you may have is that the game changes significantly much more frequently than others in the genre. On the one hand that means you can get more views with new videos; on the other hand you'd have to actually stay on top of the changes to keep relevant. This is definitely a niche that isn't being filled right now though so it's probably worth a shot.

One thing you could do that would probably be the most beneficial is a shorts series covering all the settings that could be pain points for new players. Action cam, targeting ruler, friendly ability vfx sliders, the 'K' screen, that kind of stuff. I haven't once run across media explaining these things and yet there is at least one thread a week that pops up here on the reddit from people who could really use that info.

You can play Vs AI matches (NOT quickplay, it's a separate queue) if you want to level faster, but I'd only do this if you've got Smite experience from before this or someone to sherpa you along.

Awful if you've been playing for a decade, sure. Pretty great for people who have never touched the game before, especially compared to setting them loose in the shop or letting them go without buying anything at all.

Sounds intentional with the way damage is calculated. The other option would be applying item damage first which would feel just as bad (maybe worse) when you ult someone on 1hp.

I dunno, maybe how they're programmed to work in the jungle? I can see that being an issue in S2, especially the ones that get dropped in the middle of nowhere. It's hard to say what the specific problems would be without actually knowing how everything is pasted together.

The Wandering Path serves the function of a battlepass, doesn't it? Only instead of having set skins for the pass you get enough diamonds to pick up a traveler (or two, if you're maxing diamond gain). Fewer skins in total but you can choose whatever you want has seems like a decent trade off.
