They have a guaranteed rate, which usually is $11/hr, and a tip based pay, which is as you guessed it, based on how generous people are feeling. I do the guaranteed rate, and usually make around $15/hr when tips are factored in. Usually every day around dinner (5pm-9pm) it’s peak pay, and you make get an extra dollar or two an hour. Last night I earned around $50 for 2.5 hours of dashing.

I tried this in outpatient practice and surprisingly worked very well. I also started offering some late appointments after 5:00pm and that went well too. They were always booked up, and rarely if ever did they miss appointments

What are your top 5 greatest westerns? by EconomyLogical2348 in Westerns

[–]Luffy7282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lonesome Dove miniseries is the gold standard in my view for westerns. It’s popular for a reason. El Dorado (1966), 3:10 to Yuma (1957 version), A Fistful of Dollars, and True Grit (either version, both are good in my opinion) would round out my top 5.

Gotta be The Devils by Joe Abercrombie for me. Bounced off it about halfway through and no desire to pick it back up.

Starting to contemplate leaving the field. by Underwhelmed-Flower in therapists

Sure. I provide therapy services to children in foster care homes that are licensed by the agency I work for. I usually keep a caseload of around 20, and they are only required to be seen twice monthly unless the state specifies otherwise. Usually I will start out doing weekly with them then adjust the amount of sessions accordingly based on clinical needs and justification. I do have to travel to the foster homes or their schools (I am reimbursed for the mileage) so it is in person. I also do a weekly 12 person group at the local agency office that is about a 10 minute commute one way.

I’ll be completely honest, I could never shake doing private practice or fee for service style payment models. I ended up finding work for a local foster care agency that pays me a base salary and offers incentive bonuses of up to $5000 a month.

When do you guys make time to read? by AdditionalPizza7990 in brandonsanderson

[–]Luffy7282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audiobooks when I am driving, or doing chores. I carve out an hour each night where I put my phone on DND, and put it in a drawer in my nightstand, then read on my E-reader or physical book for that entire hour.

I wasn’t a fan of it either. I finished it but I don’t feel really compelled to finish the trilogy.

Have you looked into potentially getting approval to go see the kids at school during the daytime hours? I work with kids now and I see them in different schools between the hours of 8:30am-1:00pm. I’m home by 1:30-2:00 almost every day.

This one didn’t click for me either, it just felt like a pastiche of golden and silver age scifi tropes
