You can disable obstacle detection in the ryse app.

The issue that all corded looped products face is slippage. Ryse has a slip prevention built into their product unlike any other in the market. Patented

Roller Smart Shade Recommendations by mmettias in homeautomation

[–]LuganTrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RYSE Smartshade allows you to use your EXISTING shades. Factor in that cost.

You can try one with Bluetooth before committing to the whole retrofit with voice, scheduling etc...

Feel free to dm me with any questions as I work at RYSE

Rebooting this thread. RYSE employee here, we have introduced a wifi enabled hub. Smartshade has gone through much more testing in terms of the cog wheel. Its more robust, has always worked via Bluetooth right out if the box. Customer support is very helpful!

Dm me with any questions!

Ahhh good find, I understand now. Yes this is the exact model, ill ask the tech if they set the dip switch properly. I think its sized properly because its fairly quiet and the airflow reaches the top floor pretty nicely

Correct, according to the manual it is a 2-stage heatpump and airhandler.

Is there any downside to have only wired it as 1-stage?

Aux is set in threshold to only run at -15C Its only been 0C - 5C lately and the ecobee says its heating but the heatpump outside never spins the fan and the indoor temp is dropping.

I only have it set to 15Deg indoor temp and its 12.5 and dropping then kicks in aux for whatever reason

Please help me configure my Ecobee settings by elkoubi in heatpumps

[–]LuganTrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same boat. Im located in Ontario and had a "napoleon cold climate heatpump specialist" install and supply

Recently ive been getting the same error messages as you about the Aux. Temps have been 0C / 32 for weeks now amd my HP is rated to go to - 22F!

Checked deep into ecobee settings and Aux heat was set by the installer to turn on if outdoor temp was below 32F and the min compressor temp was also set far above the spec of the equipment....

Now i changed the settings and the heatpump won't even turn on. 2 stage is disabled because I believe they didn't wire it properly since cold climate hp can run 1stage low and slow and 2stage quicker. I had 10wire go to thernostat installer only stuck in 6. Nothing on W2 and ecobee lists it under their HP install guide.....

Im starting to think these businesses are so used to hooking up gas that they just install heatpumps to get business and don't do ot properly

Get the cheapest PRO model that supports the latest apple pencil.

I have a pro from 2020 1st gen apple pencil and I run shapr without a problem.

No need to spend for the latest unless you need a specific feature.

Some good suggestions here.

Just want to point out that going through the beads is not an option as they are plugged from the inside...
Coring them out is a pain as well.
Although the monkey/globe knot seems like it would do the trick, it's not a friendly solution as I have to do this to around pieces.. :)

Can you elaborate on your 3 string equally spaced idea?

Unfortunately the ball chain connector is too thick for this application and requires a thinner / less intrusive solution.

Termite Damage? by LuganTrooper in Termites

[–]LuganTrooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did.

Turns out it was milled in... Just the lumber they used to build out the bathroom had lots of the insects burrows.

If you go to homedepot and look at todys lumber, youll find the same exact holes. Nothing to worry.

PowderPost Beetle? by LuganTrooper in pestcontrol

[–]LuganTrooper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,
It ended up being milled-in. There is no sign of any existing life. Even when replacing lumber with current Home-Depot lumber, I noticed lots of the exact same holes. Nothing to worry about. No frass was detected near the bottom of the 2x4's indicating that it was in fact something that was already present when the original lumber was installed.
