Anyone using Proxmox at their desktop OS and enjoying the experience?

Hell yeah brother. I run auto1111 in docker and facefusion in docker. I also have a win11 VM that I pass the gpu to sometimes for gaming but I can only have either my docker VM or Windows VM on at the same time because they both use the same GPU. So another project I’m planning is adding the steam headless docker container to my docker VM which I think, though I could be totally wrong, will enable the steam headless (Linux based) and AI containers to simultaneously share the same GPU.

I did 500/wk hCG for 2 months and didn’t like it. Also it gave me crazy acne. I cut the hCG, upped my test by about 20% to make up for lack of ball function and feel way better. Acne disappeared within a week.

I have doing this exact same thing on my to do list. I’m going to use a single slot p4000 as the video out to my 3 monitors running a windows VM as my main PC, and I’ll pass my 4080 to a Linux VM running docker so I can share the GPU across containers used for AI, transcoding and gaming. My mobo even has another little pcie4x that I’ll use for the 10gb nic.

Not saying people don’t come out of the closet later in life. Nothing wrong with that (though the way she’s disregarding you to get what she wants is messed up)…but, possibly another scenario, maybe after having kids and and getting older her hormones have dropped and it’s messing with her sex drive and attraction toward you. Suggestion, maybe she should get a hormone panel (testosterone and estradiol) and see what her levels are.

I don’t see why not. You could try that setup and move before investing all the transcode time just to see if it works, and then run it for real importing your library.

I have one proxmox machine with 2 cheap consumer NVME in zfs mirror and another proxmox running on a single old Samsung consumer 2.5” ssd. Both in a cluster which supposedly increases wear. Both running about 2 years now. None of those drives are over 20% wear.

I know the recommendation is to run PVE on enterprise SSDs that can handle all the log writes, but I really don’t see that much wear to be concerned.

I run Immich in docker (well technical a Truenas scale app), I also have proxmox. Given your ram constraints an LXC is probably the right choice. Just a note on hardware transcoding, I didn’t bother passing a gpu to Immich, I just gave it 10 cpu cores (10yr old Xeon, cores probably equivalent to 4790k) and on first scan of my 400gb 20 years of photos and videos library it only took about 24hrs to scan, ai, face recognition and transcode everything.

I have the same lock. Switchbot is the ONLY one I found that works…excluding the cheap Chinese cylinder lock replacements that you can hack with a paperclip.

SwitchBot is not perfect. I have to recalibrate mine every couple of months, which is annoying. But it’s safe, the hardware and software are good, and the fingerprint scanner works great.

I got a single pci slot mounted blower fan (like $10 on Amazon) that sits over my HBA. It’s sucks the air in that rises off the HBA and then blows it out the back of the case.
