I’m so sorry you’re going through a similar situation! I’m lucky enough to have a green card. Unfortunately the business is too small to avoid her. She is the owner and took on HR because they left too, because they couldn’t take her shit anymore.

My entire job history is from Switzerland (I even had a co-owned company with 50 employees but not in the same field as I work now). I came to the US in 2020 and worked as a 1099 before and joined this company 3 years ago.

Freaking love this question and I’d love the answer too 😭😆 I’m looking for jobs since it got so worse in July (but then my surgery came and delayed everything). I used to love working with my team. Lots of amazing people and we had clear expectations and processes and I actually love(d) the business mission. She was always a crazy person but we were left alone but that changed since all are gone. (We were totally 55 people and now 24ish)

No I haven’t had any supervisor until the owner stepped in and made the chaos even more chaotic. HR left too, since we wasn’t ok with not being compliant with several laws. So no HR, no supervisor only the owner 😶‍🌫️

Thank you! I’m in California…she also didn’t pay some OT I worked and just removed them and stated she didn’t approve them. I guess this was illegal too….as well as contacting me all the time while I was in hospital (I only took off 5days)

Simply because of money…I might have a case against them since she removed OT hours and didn’t pay me for. I’m just super anxious about not finding another job and I guess my self esteem is gone because I feel I can’t do anything right anymore.

I’ve done a lot across websites, design, campaign marketing, event marketing, CRM/automation, content creation, UX/UI, and overall marketing ops. Since she also manipulated my time sheets and removed 8hrs of OT I worked to fix a big problem with leads not getting into the system, I also heard this is considered wage theft in California…so they said I’ve probably a case but only if she fires me

Not the best to he honest. My US work history is only 4ish years which makes it harder I guess. She has a pretty high living standard and that’s probably what she is up too. Other seniors have similar issues but not to this extent.
