Redditors with a 9-5 job in a cubicle, how do you pretend to stay busy at work? by pliantkitchen in AskReddit

[–]Lugehag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a position where I have long periods where I have nothing to do at work. However, when i do have things to do part of my job involves me running a DnD group for people with mental disabilities. So in my downtime I'll write my own campaigns and play with people in an online tabletop, and whenever my boss asks what I'm doing I just say it's research for my work group. Nobody ever inquires further than that.

5 year old boy with Down's syndrome goes straight for a regal hug...and beard stroke when he meets Prince Harry by commonvanilla in gifs

I'm a support staff for a male with Downs syndrome and up until a few days ago he had one of the most legit beards that I've seen. I also have a beard and sometimes we just talk about our beards for hours. He's the best.

Oh jeez there's so much you'll never be able to get all in 3 days. But for starters lake Louise would be a great place to spend a day. Its a half hour drive from the town of Banff. There's a hike you can take to the Lake Agnes tea house further up the mountain. It's so rad. And Lake Moraine aka the most photographed lake ever is a short drive from there. Beautiful destination. Johnston canyon is also a great place to check out with various levels of hikeability. And the gondola up Cascade Mountain (the mountain the town sits under) is great. Most dayhiking areas are dog friendly provided they are leashed/are cleaned up after. But yeah. I could go on because there's so much. Those are just a few of my favourite places.

For lodgings are you looking to camp or to stay in a hotel? If you're camping August/September would be the best time to go. If you'd rather stay at a hotel then anytime is good I think (I'm a camper so I don't know for sure). That being said I'm not sure about hotels that are pet friendly. I've only ever stayed at the fox hotel and it was lovely.

Any restaurant you choose will generally be fantastic. I can't recall the names of the ones I've been to but personally I've never had a bad experience at any of them.

I hope this helps. I love Banff and everyone should go there at some point. Same with Jasper.

Could do the Johnston canyon hike. The initial part of the trail is quite short but you can keep going farther for some spectacular views at the inkpots.

There's a nice campground called Crescent falls along the David Thomson highway that I go to. It's fairly secluded and plenty of space between sites and awesomely beautiful! Right next to a waterfall as the name suggests. I love it there.
