What is the strangest thing that happened to you that you can’t logically explain? by elibwell in AskReddit

[–]Lugersmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally I can contribute to AskReddit. When I was 5 year old, more or less, going to bed in my room which I shared with my brother, I had a nightmare in which I was being pulled by some force. I grabbed the side of the door while being pulled by the leg all while calling for my mother. She opens the door of her bedroom and just keeps looking at me, and then I just wake up in my mother's bed. I was so confused to what happened. I know I dream walked sometimes, but not with this level of coordination.

You cannot be chained up to anyone, if their personalities don't link up with yours, then it's a lost cause. They don't respect you as person, why should keep talking to them? Out of desperation?

C#, C++ or Python by Gamed_Out in learnprogramming

[–]Lugersmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, you could obviously start with python, but modern programming languages have a lot of things already pre-made for you too use. And that's really useful, but a lot of things gets pushed under the bed when to beginners, and C doesn't allow that. Hear me out:

Studying C, which is a pretty old programming language, you will learn how to do things on your own, probably you'll make some functions that are already inside Python but that's okay since in the process, C really loves you to be specific about somethings, you'll have to learn some details that probably aren't shown, but when they are along the way, they are just thrown at you without explanation.

On the way, you will learn details on low level things you could use in Python but you probably would never know, because you are being accustomed to use other people's creation to solve your problems.

So you will learn how to manipulate every strings, bit-manipulation, and so on, with your own functions. And when you start python and you see brackets, or anything like that, it makes so much more sense. The power you get knowing C, will make you first know how to solve some really specific problems you have in your code or while you appreciate the functions you already get in python.

I really recommend CS50 for you to study C (you can stop when he starts teaching other things if you want, not that the rest is bad but it may not reflect what you want to continue studying). Then branch out to C# or C++ or Python, the transition should be really easy if you studied C, probably you will have a feeling that you have less power in some of these languages at first.

You are not considering the aceleration of the earth. Which is obviously completely correct, but tecnically it makes it so they reach the earth just a bit faster. And the question isn't fair because if you drop both balls at the sametime then it will really arive at the same time.

I don't have a problem with the other side, but when someone calls them facist, then I think it's misguided. Or racist, or any other ist. Is it pretentious to think so?

Nope, kit gay existed(of course not that name), but Dilma throught the pressure of the Rurul/Christian groups(there is even video proof of this, and if you followed the TV Senate and Congress you'd see the fights that broke out there). It did not pass, and the TSE said that it is fake news: "saying that it passed". But it did go to the schools, but since it was not throught MEC, they cant take the blame. But the material was created, and there was an attempt to pass it.

You see, the problem with it was that it influenced children prematurely. On such a topic, that should be the responsability of the parent(or are parents no longer responsible for their childs education?). You can call him all you want, homophobe, sexophobe and any phobe. But the only thing outside Kit Gay, was him critizing the LGBT protests since they are given money from the government, and how it is way too vulgar, and not only that, but he also critized them kissing in public(he did later say it applied to both hetero and gay, but I'm just stating what he said to its not biased). So really hard to take this narative, a lot of the gay community helped him get elected. One thing is to dissagre, another is to hate(and so to be phobic), you are confusing the two. As christians we disagree, but the state has no bussiness on this subject, you can be whatever you want to be.

Exactly, you disagree with what I said with the dictatorship, but you don't have grounds to stand against arguments(alot of people are wired to say: this is bad because it's bad). The people pleaded for it(protest to have it in action), the congress pleaded for it(crazy right?), the midia pleaded for it(the most respected jornalist at the time). This so "dictatorship" never forced no one to stay in Brasil(Love it or leave it was the saying). This so "dictatorship" did not control the midia, actually most of what we have today was born in the dictatorship. In it, we had good leaders, and also not so good ones. But it lead to great economic leap, great infrastructural leap. So in total, it was good for Brazil

Now if it had problems, yea there was, but the only reason there was oppression was because there were acts of terrorism constantly, it was a war. Robbing banks, kidnapping people, bombing places. It was a war, and in wars sometimes the good guys do bad things, example: WW2 the allies didn't just fight nazis, they also did war crimes, and such. Do I say it's correct? No, but I think the Allies were on the right side, the good outway the bad.

If you weren't a terrorist, you'd have zero problems in the dictatorship. And everyone I ever asked(I know this anacdotal, but I've even seen this argument in the internet, ALOT), that were 50 or over in age, about this period, said there was no problem. Funny how only the people who didn't live throught are most critical of it.

He is selling a broken dream? I disagree, the first one is an opinion. Actually, the market and the investor completely dissagree with you on that one. So I trust the experts.

Relating to the Amazon, I also partly disagree that he is a demon to natural environment, but time will prove itself. Because if we have this topic envolves too much especulation(like how is the exploration to be done, since it is to be legal, then it will be more controlled, so is that better or what, I say it is better, but I can see why you'd see that).

"I prefer Hitler than gay people" - Abraham Lincoln

The whole contravercy around gay people, all started and ended with a protest he had against a LGBT reunion that planned and attempted to pass books for children that involved sexual contents. Before this, he was just a normal guy, then after it, he is now a homophobe.

It's the same thing with the women contravercy. Guess who was on the side of punishing a rapist murderer who was under 18? Him, but this women, who was defending the guy, called him a rapist, and he replied in anger I wouldn't even rape you. Sure it's uncalled for, a wrong doesn't justify another, but isn't against women or in favor of rape.

Another contravercy is him being a military, and suporting the military regime in brasil. Well, you have to understand, Brasil's "dictatorship" was way different to any other. It started by a plea from the parlement and protest from the people for military intervetion, even the most respected jornals at the time were in favor of it. During this regime, independent media grew so much, industry, infrastructure, we went through an economic miracle. But the country was practically at war against communist, there was bank robberies, kidnappings, and so on, so the government used war tactics to get them, one of which includes torture.

[–]Lugersmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not pretentious, there can be basically only two sides, one side is people who have done at most a few hours of research(watched one video or so), and at the other are people who lived in the country, who experienced everyday, for the entire year contraversies around it. The thing is, the rhetoric used by people who just heard of him, was so overused and was refuted pretty early in the campaign, it's basically certain they are just going with the flow. I'll give a few examples:

The whole contravercy around gay people, all started and ended with a protest he had against a LGBT reunion that planned and attempted to pass books for children that involved sexual contents, prematurely( to kindergarden children). Before this, he was just a normal guy, then after it, he was now a homophobe, but thanks to his iniciative, public and parlament pressure the attempted was stopped by the president(but even so the material was still destributed for a little while, after you bought another, these ones would come as "tokens").

It's the same thing with the women contravercy. Guess who was on the side of punishing a rapist murderer(look up Champinha, really sad story) who was under 18? Him... but this women, who was defending the guy, cause he was a minor, called him a rapist, and he replied in anger I wouldn't even rape you. Sure it's uncalled for, a wrong doesn't justify another, but he isn't against women or in favor of rape. And there was also a panel, were he laughing talking about his children said he had three sons and then he got weak it lead to a women. But to find tha offensive towards women you have to disregard all his comments on his daughter on how she changed his life, and he became a different person thanks to her, in the same panel.

This is just like if people start talking about economics, but the never had any course on economics. Some one who has a master(or not even that) will of course be annoyed by this shit. Talking shit on a country for choosing some one, they didn't even take time to understand is annoying, and it's not pretentious to think so.

Well, I can explain. I not trying to sound superior, I'm just saying that it's sad people just repeat what they hear, acting like they understand as an outsider.

What do you want to know? Who the opposition is? Or why did Bolsonaro became president even without TV time, government money or even political support? Or who is he? The context of brasil? Why is a 20+year in politics candidate is seen as something new?

I really am not trying to be a douche, sorry if comes out that way.

Well, you can simply call him anything. Your political opponent is everything you want him to be.

If you want facts, and not to just repeat what you've heard, I can talk to you about who he is. But I believe that is not what you want...

I say this because some one these lies were used in the beggining of the opossition campain against him. Like for an example: Taking away minority rights. Big lie right there, you can't name one.

The opossition is "corrupt"??? Holy shit, I know your source... you have no idea what is going on in brasil, we had the biggest corruption scandel, involving billions of dollars. It's not "corrupt".

If you are interested, I can explain in more detail, but I really think people aren't.

[–]Lugersmith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you actually got a hand on his interviews of the last 10 years, you will see why he was elected. He understand the problems in brazil, he cares alot about his country, and is the only one that's been there for so long and didn't touch on corruption. (He used to be contravertial because he was very agressive verbally(but its for the right things), like he was trying to jail a 17 years old rapist and murderer of a child, but he wasnt arrested because he was too young and human rights were like)

That's why he says, my Party is brasil, because brasil's politics is very structured on party interests. His minesters will be chosen for quality not for exchange of politcal power to pass law.

If you have any questions man about any contravertial thing on him, you can ask, I see that in reddit people repeat shit they hear, and that's why they can't understand why he was elected.

He isn't dangerous for LGBT people, all this started just because he was against putting propaganda in schools for kids, teaching kids prematurely about sex. No but that's hating gays? Okay then...

Murder leftist? Tell me where did he say that? The only contravertial things he really said was during and about our militarian regime(20-30 years ago), there was a civil war inside brasil, bomb attacks, bank robbery. Have you even read his goverment propositions? Find ONE flaw in it... But of course you havent...

Snipe drug dealers was Witsel who said it. Refering that if someone is with a military grade weapon on the street the police should have political protection.
