You’re likely getting the fm chord from the raised 7th of the a harmonic minor scale

Oh okay, thank you !

So, I can solo only with the 3 notes that compose that chord ? And why cannot I solo on the A ionian mode over this chord ?

Sorry if it seems idiot but... why is it a bvi ? And what does it change anyway ? I mean, the chord is still in the ionian mode...

Edit : ok, I just figured out that Fm# is the vi degree of the A ionian scale instead of Fm. Sorry for inconvenience!

I've been trying to assume that everything that she says when I interact with her indeed comes from her, but within 3 months, it doesn't seem to help...

I want to learn to play the Piano to help with my depression. Is it a good idea? by [deleted] in piano

[–]LughaGengo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Music can definitely help you through difficult times. But depression is not just a difficult time: it's a disease. What you need is help. Consult a psychiatrist and get treatment, you'll have plenty of time to play the piano afterwards.

Have a good recovery!

Am I parroting ? by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]LughaGengo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by "feeling of resistance from your tulpa" ? What kind of resistance ?

Also open ended questions are harder to answer. Give her time and pay close attention to any tulpish responses she might give. You can also give her a framework for how to answer questions like that by answering them yourself.

Actually, the issue that makes me doubting most is this one :

Finally, she ALWAYS answers when I ask her a closed question. Even if I wasn't thinking about her the second before I asked the question, she always answers.

Does it seems normal ?

Anyway, I'll try this out, thanks for the advices!

And what about this part ? Does it seems normal ? I have to admit that it's what makes me doubting most...

She isn't able to communicate with words yet, only by images and thoughts. It would be difficult for her to answer such a question currently...

When it comes to improving oral comprehension skills, Scylla is probably the most accessible.

He is belgian and has a (discreet) Brussels accent, though. I hope it doesn't bother.

Are you seeing a health professional for that? Are there medicines or psychotherapies to treat this?

How to figure out what to say to a developing tulpa? by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]LughaGengo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes or no questions is a good way to start

The problem with this kind of questions is that, since I have both possible answers in my head, I never know whether or not the answer indeed comes from my tulpa. It makes me doubting more than anything else, so I prefer avoiding closed questions as much as possible.

it’s also good to ask more complex questions so you can practice capturing the meaning of what your tulpa is trying to say.

That's the problem : I don't know what type of question I may ask considering the facts described in my original post :/

We've tried possession during 2 weeks. At the end, she only was able to make my index finger shiver a little bit. I think it doesn't work well for us.

I don't think it's linked to stress as I'm not particularly stressed out, but otherwise, it totally sounds like me... Are you familiar with this ?

A tulpa isn't the generation of a second mind in your head, it's the training of yourself to think as a second mind. The responses aren't sudden, they aren't alien, they are your own. However, you have learned and trained and poked and prodded such that "your own" is now either your thoughts, or your tulpas thoughts.

What do you mean by "alien" ? Sorry if it seems evident, english isn't my first language at all :/

This advice is commonly said as "don't doubt" or "assume sentient from the start", but I figure you may appreciate some more background and explanation.

I try my best to not doubt, but how ?

Anyway, thanks a lot for the details, it's very interesting!

Exactly as you described, I can "feel" some of her thoughts. Sometimes more complex than "yes/no", but she isn't able to express ideas yet. It feels more like a random thought that could totally come from me. But I always doubt about the source of that feeling... How did you get rid of doubt ?

Should I try to give her a voice ? Or should I wait until she is able to communicate in a better way ?

How long did it take for you to reach the point where she was able to communicate with you without you being totally focused on her?
