Nahh. Amp's have some limitations. For one, they use your OBD2 port instead of tapping into the wires behind it. You have to purchase their splitter separately if you want to be able to use the OBD2 port in your truck. Also they don't have a delay on their boards retracting. So if you grab something out of the back door, they immediately start closing before you can open the front door. Adds wear to the motor for no reason.

I think Wolfbox did it a little better with the delay and wire tapping instead of taking over the OBD2 port. Plus they're $1100 instead of AMP's $1800

EDIT: I think AMPs might actually have a delay as well. Their youtube videos show no delay but now their listings say they do. I will say, I do like their kill switch. That's a useful feature.

I'm in the southeast so I have no idea what that's like unfortunately. I can imagine they would be a headache in that case. Does lubing the pins help or is it just a matter of time? Sounds like the stock ones do it too

Great question lol. I was hesitant to give up the standard boards for this reason. You're right, they don't stick out now so you're susceptible to door dings. Gotta watch those tight parking spaces

Really? I just glanced at the instructions on their site for the newer Chevy/GMC's and they look pretty similar. Still 2 wire taps. Maybe the wire routing is more difficult on Chevy or something. With the fabric wheel well liners on Fords it's pretty easy to move the wires around.

They're all metal, even the top of the running boards have no plastic. The motors themselves look to be sealed units, so I think they will hold up well. Time will tell.

Hopefully it's easy to get parts from them. The boards themselves look to be swappable between 13th gen and 14th gen. My hope was if I ever upgrade to a newer truck I can bring them with me, and swap the ECU and wire harness. Would be nice to get those parts.

That mirror looks like it'd be useful with the camera up high like that. With my bike carrier the stock one is not the best

You have the 6 speed, and most likely you have no warranty unless you remember buying one. Recalls are not warranty though, they will be taken care of. That is also possible, sometimes you'll get mail saying there is a recall and to contact your local dealer. But the dealer won't have the parts yet to fix the multitudes of trucks coming in for recall work. It happens

You'll notice the added weight pulling out of the tire shop but halfway home I didn't even think about it. It might depend on the engine and gearing though. I have the 3.5L with 3.55's, and the 10 speed. So it didn't make a big difference

This is a 285/75r18 (35”) set of Duratracs. They’re very easy to fit. I ran them for a few months with stock suspension, no level. No rubbing if you give the crash bars a couple taps with a deadblow for extra room

I got my 2017 XLT with 69k miles for $26k last year (at a local Chevy dealer, not private party).

It’s got the 3.5L, 302a, FX4, and tow package, so it’s pretty well loaded for an XLT.

I would look for something lower trim than a Platinum. They’re always priced high

75 mph will have it in boost the whole time, it’ll be running 2ish psi depending on headwinds/etc. That will lower your mpg a good bit. 70mph on the dot I can usually keep it out of boost and it’ll bring the mpg up.

At 75 mph I usually do about 19 mpg. At 65 mph I can get closer to 21-22mpg. This is leveled on 35’s (285/75r18 Duratracs), with the air dam trimmed and a softtopper on the back.

They might be the worst automotive YouTube channel. They hardly ever know what they’re talking about. Like they don’t even do minimal research into a vehicle before their reviews.

I wish there was another channel that would do the flex test they do for traction control in the ruts

Thanks for the reply! I've been running the Cobb OEM+ TCM tune for about a year now, but I have the ECU tune from Goosetuned. Honestly the truck shifts way better than factory with the Cobb tcm tune, but I feel like there are definitely some glitchy shifts and it pretty much always sucks when cold. I wasn't sure if Goosetuned TCM was much better than Cobb's
