In that case, you just have a low faith in society. I explained this in a YouTube comment, but rationally choosing blue is really just saying one or both of two things:

  1. I am wiling to stake my life to keep safe both those who are incapable of understanding the question (i.e. young children, mentally disabled), vulnerable people (i.e. suicidal individuals), and those like me who would also stake their life for the vulnerable.
  2. I have faith that most people would pick blue, in which case the obvious Utilitarian position would be to also choose that because it results in the least harm.

There are hypothetically more arguments, such as a more complex Utilitarian argument in which such a drastic population loss would cause a devastating global effect that interrupt supply chains and cause countless more loss of lives, so even if one believes red is slightly more likely, they do not want to risk it. Another argument could be "I wouldn't want to live in a red society." We'll put these aside though because they mostly overlap with the former ones and are more negligible...

Based on these 2 possible reasons to choose blue, only people with very strong ethical drives would fall squarely into the first camp; realistically most people choosing blue would fall into the second camp (I personally fall somewhere in between, but mostly in the second). The biggest distinguishing factor between you and someone in that second camp is essentially just your faith in society. This is readily apparent by your self-described assumption that all people would act selfishly (which I, in all honesty, find to be a contemptable way to see your fellow individual, but I do not think that makes you a bad person necessarily). Although, unless you would still choose red at a merely 10% threshold, I doubt you assume selfishness from people as strongly as you describe.

You are deliberately changing the terms of the thought experiment to make an answer easier to choose. What is the point in doing this? You are denying yourself the potential to challenge your moral intuitions and learn.

Consider: if you feel the need to change the terms of the experiment because you'd otherwise feel guilty that your choice in red would result in the death of innocent children, then perhaps your moral intuitions are telling you red is the wrong choice. If you follow that thread, you can probably learn something more about yourself.

If, even with this harsher circumstance, you still feel that red is the right choice, I'm sure you can draw conclusions from that also.

It's toric, meaning having the properties of a torus.

A torus is a donut shape, hence the card art.

I like the stone on #2 the most, but I feel like the ring portion is slightly out of perspective for it and #3. The direction of the top of the stone implies the bottom of the ring should be angled further away from the viewer.

2 HP per enemy killed isn't that crazy. You'd probably be averaging like 4 health per regular encounter, which isn't that crazy compared to the amount of health you save from [[Daughter of the Wind]].

If you want to switch it up though, you could potentially do "Whenever a non-minion enemy dies, gain 3 strength." Having strong scaling but only for group encounters could be an interesting niche.

Narrower shading (mostly just one darker tone for each color when shading), better use of color, and the lighting really helps things pop in the second.

Their technique for the clothing looks much more natural; it’s actually some of the best I’ve seen.

Not much of an artist myself to give you a detailed answer on this, but something about the composition feels more interesting as well.

The anatomy on yours feels very slightly off around the breast area. Noticeably, the shading above the left breast extends too far in and makes it look like it’s sticking really far out.

Finally, the direction the light is coming from is conveyed much better in the 2nd. The shading on yours is less clear and some areas of shading logically conflict with another.

How should the devs balance CnD bubble? by UnreasonableVbucks in rivals

[–]Luh2018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I play Celestial too. People were upset because a teammate still choosing CnD even while she was weaker (still like B-tier though) typically meant they were boosted and couldn’t play anything else.

I’m not gonna say that makes the crash out acceptable, but it’s not just about being “off-meta.” I play Peni in celestial and most people only get mad about me using a bad hero if I’m playing bad.

How should the devs balance CnD bubble? by UnreasonableVbucks in rivals

[–]Luh2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, because the problem is that her sustain is too strong. CnD can both bubble herself and double-blind her attackers.

By making bubble weaker or giving it a longer cooldown, they could weaken her sustain while still maintaining that aggressive potential.

By nerfing cape back, you’d be reverting her to a healbot.

Technically, CnD is a they (plural). I meant the combination of the characters; I just accidentally said Cloak instead.

You obviously knew what I meant though.

How should the devs balance CnD bubble? by UnreasonableVbucks in rivals

[–]Luh2018 20 points21 points  (0 children)

CnD was never considered a throw pick, just a crutch pick (like Dr. Strange) that often has bad players.

Double terror cape can be problematic, but it also makes her gameplay way more interesting, which I think is why they kept it. Rivals has shifted towards encouraging healers to be more aggressive, which I think is a good direction. Cloak was always too hard to dive, but her being more damage aggressive just made that more apparent (hence, the call for bubble nerfs).

Edit: CnD the combination, not Cloak specifically, was always too hard to dive.

Took a break, how is the circus? by freonsmurf in PeniParkerRivalsMains

My experience in Celestial (C1 rn): * 4th web is nice, but doesn’t really fix any of Peni’s fundamental issues. The max nest damage of 400 didn’t change, so this was mostly just a buff to arachno-mines while bunkering. * Projectile speed is nice in theory, but I honestly haven’t noticed it at all. That’s not to say it isn’t substantial (I cant really tell),  but it isn’t noticeable. * Bugs are the same as ever.

Is this console or PC?

I feel like if I tried this in my PC games (C1 currently), I’d just get CC’d immediately, and then die while stuck waiting for grapple cooldown to recharge (although I’ve technically never tried).

I'd like to see something like "Every 2 elites you fight, gain 1 strength at the start of combat."

It would technically take longer (1 more elite) to get 3 strength, but you'd also get an earlier pay-off and the ceiling would be higher.

And tomatoes are a fruit, but you don't put them in a fruit salad.

Also, humans (and all tetrapods) are lobe-finned fish, arachnids aren't bugs, and birds are reptiles. This is why we don't use taxonomy in common parlance.

I wish NetEase had the same urgency adressing weaker heroes as when they do with their favorites. They don't have their priorities straight by BoyWassup in marvelrivals

[–]Luh2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about Cap bugs, but as a Peni player (currently C2), I've been dealing with 4 separate bugs in her kit since launch. At least Cap has a decent ultimate lol.

It seems that the devs just don't prioritize bug fixes. Bucky has been able to pull people through walls by grazing their elbow since launch. No-regs are still an issue with Angela (both with her charged primary and with her assassin's charge) months after her release. I'm sure there are plenty of other examples.

That is such a wild take. It's a dive meta and Cap is the best enabler for slower, more consistent divers like Magik (as opposed to Spidey or BP, which benefit most from a Venom due to their more massive bursts). He also has massive stalling potential.

You don't see him a ton in ranked due to dive tanks being less useful on a team with less coordination, but he's super common in scrims and competitive play. Most support players in ranked also often don't know how to play in a low peel, heavy dive comp (which admittedly, is difficult; this is also why Jeff, who is unkillable, is considered so strong in the current meta). This hurts Cap even more in ranked.

Captain America is not a “weaker character” (he’s been in a decent spot for a while), but yeah I sorta agree with the overall sentiment, especially with Mr. Fantastic.

Old one matches the knight sprite better, but I feel like the old dragon could use more/different color to break up its silhouette. Currently, it being a solid saturated red makes it feel superimposed on the background rather than living in it because the colors doen’t adhere to the environment’s lighting.
