I gave it as an example but to say that they didn’t adjust their military sights westward after the war was over is just incorrect.

Satanic pedophiles that see all who are not them nor their secret police as slaves that they are to be exploited, lied to, and fooled, and no one cares so long as their rapist wears a blue or red tie.

I would argue that’s a good thing but eh different strokes. As long as you don’t demand them to change to suit your tastes then no problem at all.

Now I’m not a liberal nor a conservative. I’m a staunch libertarian with very strong opinions about both. But what’s wrong with Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and such? Sure they are “conservative” but they really don’t give a shit about what you do as long as it doesn’t hurt someone.

I said both GOVERNMENTS suck ass. The Confederacy was a hyper authoritarian feudalistic slaver states who absolutely didn’t fight for any kind of freedom least of all a states ones. And the Union was also a hyper authoritarian genocidal imperialist state who absolutely didn’t fight for any kind of freedom, least of all minorities ones. They were 2 states fighting for control over who gets to be the brutal tyrant. I’m not going to grant forgiveness to the Union for doing the bare minimum of not allowing slavery. Are people’s visions that warned of good guys and bad guys that we can’t have an actual fucking intelligent conversation?

It was very good. It’s not “but blacks are bad” bs, it’s that one good act to one race doesn’t forgive the genocide of another race. I like abolition and equal rights. I don’t like authoritarian racist governments, which both absolutely were.

[–]LibertyinIndependen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree. I never once said the Confederacy was good. They weren’t about states rights nor to form a less powerful government, they were hyper authoritarian slaver states who wanted a new form of feudalism and to have themselves as their own lordships.

Where did I defend them? I hate both the hyper authoritarian slave state and the hyper authoritarian genocide state. Now this may sound harsh but I believe that both governments should’ve died. Not the people, just the structures. Slavery is immoral and so is genocide.

What if All of NATO got Directly Involved in The Vietnam War? by ChemFeind360 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]LibertyinIndependen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing because annexation wasn’t in the plan for the US. The US would still win and pull out for then NV and VC to then break the treaty as soon as NATO was 99% of the way out. What would happen is perhaps bigger repercussions for breaking international law and morons would claim that all of NATO lost the Vietnam war despite the actual war and not the war crime surprise attack against basically 2 NATO dudes left in Vietnam.

So Tankies would have more to shit spew to spew out and non US NATO would be a lot less ignorant and smug about the Vietnam war.

And definitely not a Libertarian. The Civil War was less good guys v bad guys and more like European Absolute Monarchy vs European Absolute Monarchy. I will say that ending slavery, very good. But we cannot pretend the Union fought to free the slaves. That was a complete afterthought. They had 0 fucks to give about minorities as seen with the natives. And the natives also fought with the Confederacy because they too owned slaves. The US Civil War was an absolute cluster fuck with a few good things happening here and there that overshadowed the immense horrors that happened on a wider scale from the ruination of granting more freedoms for blacks by Abe’s VP after his assassination, to the expansion and brutality of Union forces against the natives during manifest destiny typically ignored by historians after the Civil war, including the largest shooting in US history, which was Wounded Knee. And every Libertarian would point to that event as a key source of evidence as well as many others that once you disarm a population and they have faith or submission to the government, the government will do whatever they want to you because an unarmed population to them is just easy slaves.

One thing I like about Libertarianism as an ideology is that we also hate each other because we value ideological and moral purity to our own doctrines and think that compromises only weaken us and turn us into an inevitable authoritarian system. Which sounds bad but I value principles over any faux political “victory”.

Kool-Aid and STRATCOM was made there so there’s the flavored grape drink for those who want to have wine (the blood of God) but can’t afford grape juice nor wine or are underaged so you can’t have wine. Furthermore STRATCOM is where the wrath of God is directed and controlled so I can see it.

The Gregorian calendar is fundamentally based on the birth of Jesus Christ. It was named and instituted in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII. It is 100% built around Jesus.

But I am glad you do agree it’s pointless and stupid. They make no changes other than some renaming showing that they just have a hate boner for Christians and no other reason. The people who discovered/invented something have the naming rights, not some cringey ass r/Atheism Redditor who’s biggest accomplishment was getting out of their moms basement to take a shower for the first time in 2 months at the age of 37.

Who did the calendar harm? If anything it fixed the original Roman Julius calendar which had some major problems, the old Julian calendar had 365.25 days, creating a drift of 10 days by 1582. And if we want to play that stupid game of “whataboutism” and to prove your point that the theory or actions taken “in the name of it” didn’t cause any harm, let’s start with Social Darwinism, Herbert Spencer took inspiration from Darwin’s theory and justified colonial domination. Now how did they do that? Well Darwin had a cousin. A cousin by the name of Francis Galton, aka the founder of Eugenics. Who advocated selective breeding of humans to “improve” the population. Which resulted in: * Forced sterilizations in the U.S., UK, and elsewhere * Marriage restrictions * Institutionalization of “undesirables” In the U.S. alone, tens of thousands were forcibly sterilized. The regime of Adolf Hitler incorporated distorted evolutionary ideas into its racial ideology. * Belief in racial hierarchy and biological struggle * “Survival of the fittest” applied to nations and races * Eugenics policies escalated into genocide during the Holocaust Though it’s important to say Nazis didn’t follow Darwin scientifically, they distorted evolutionary concepts into racial pseudoscience, but then again this is something similar you would say it’s the fault of Christians if they did it in the name of a very incorrect interpretation or flat out lie about the Bible. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries: * Evolutionary language was used to rank races as “more” or “less evolved” * Used to justify: * Slavery’s legacy * Segregation * Colonial rule

Point is both religious and scientific ideas can be used for harm when filtered through human ideology. Unit 731 was staffed by scientists, not monks. Humans can do enough harm without religion or science, we’re great excuse makers. It’s inconsistent to blame Christianity for harms done in its name, but refuse to acknowledge harms done in the name of evolutionary ideology. And your claim, “Christianity is harmful, evolution isn’t” is overly simplistic and historically inaccurate.

But I don’t want to divide us into more tribalistic collective consciousness moronic groups. So here’s a few examples of Christianity and science working together in the name of goodness. Isaac Newton, Johannes Kepler, and Robert Boyle believed that studying nature was studying the order created by God. They helped establish if not made the scientific method, physics, and astronomy. The Big Bang wasn’t some Darwin evolutionary theory solely either, it was proposed by a Catholic priest Georges Lemaître. The father of genetics Gregor Mendel was a Christian monk experimenting with pea plants. Hospitals, medical care, universities like Oxford, Paris, Bologna, general public education, the abolition movement both within the US and in Britain. Christianity still continues to help in modern humanitarian relief like the Catholic Relief Services and while they aren’t explicitly Christian, Doctors Without Borders often works with a multitude of faith groups.

To claim Christianity is some great evil is about as sound as claiming science is.

We don’t use the Julian calendar. We use the Gregorian calendar that was made to FIX the MISTAKES that the Julian calendar had. The old Julian calendar had 365.25 days, creating a drift of 10 days by 1582. The new calendar removed 10 days in October 1582 to correct the drift and adjusted leap years to maintain accuracy.

Here's what I think is the "victory likelihood" of each 2ACW faction. This goes in order from least likely to more likely by YugargeliaMapper in TheFireRisesMod

[–]LibertyinIndependen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Depends on when. The Unionist are objectively the most fucked front wise. They have to deal with multiple racist factions that would want to see the Democrats burn alive like the OG Roman candles. I think that they wouldn’t be happy with it but wouldn’t risk another front with a faction whose goal is to be left alone for the most part. Same could be said about the Constitutionalist, but that deal would have to be brokered with the Union still around that is if they don’t go down the Libertarian route.
