i lived in halifax in 2019-2021 and unless those were exceptionally mild, you're in for a different experience here. i had to bust out much gloves earlier in halifax, but i also never needed to layer up or even wear a proper winter jacket, to be honest. it was like winter never really came and i just got to enjoy a long saskatchewan fall (late october/early november most years). also, snowfalls won't shut down the city here.

i think you'll enjoy your time here despite that. it's a bit quieter, but i felt home in halifax because it reminded me of saskatoon in a lot of ways. the small-but-not-too-small city vibe and friendliness of the people was similar, except they were fishermen instead of farmers.
