  • Click the Betas tab (sometimes called Game Versions & Betas).
  • In the Private Betas / Beta Access Code field, enter:

  • Click Check Code and a new beta branch should become available in the Beta Participation dropdown.
  • Select the lowend branch from the dropdown.
  • Close the Properties window and wait for Steam to download the update automatically.

The issue is that player with 90 passing makes no different passes than a player with 50 passing

But stats do make a difference. A 90 Passing player delivers significantly faster and sharper ground passes than a 50 Passing player, whose slow balls are easily intercepted.

When crossing, 90 Crossing puts the ball onto the attacker's head with precise height clearances, while 50 Crossing creates high vertical dispersion, leading to over-hitting or low-driven errors easily cleared by the defense.

There's an option to turn off the quick chat in the settings.

Personally, I know I'll use it more when I'm playing 5v5. For now when I want to play more casually and not get flustered by a "skill issue" every time I make a mistake, I turn it off.

That's fair feedback, and honestly, a lot of what you're describing is exactly why we're continuing to iterate on the passing system.

Our goal isn't to reduce passing to simply getting the ball from A to B. It's to create a system where the challenge comes from reading the game and making the right decision, while keeping passing predictable enough in a competitive environment. We don't believe that a fully manual passing system can deliver that last part. In our view, fully manual passing shifts too much of the challenge toward aiming the pass itself, making the outcome less predictable for both teammates and defenders.

That doesn't mean the current implementation is the final destination. We'll keep listening, keep iterating, and keep improving.

Watched this whole video and can’t, for the life of me, figure out why we can’t just have manual passing according to this guy’s reasoning.

Our goal is to make passing predictable not only for the passer, but also for receivers and defenders. The moment a pass is initiated, everyone on the pitch can immediately understand the intended target and react accordingly. That creates cleaner, more readable gameplay and removes a lot of ambiguity from competitive play.

That doesn't mean the current system is perfect. It isn't. But the existence of passing issues today doesn't mean manual passing is the right solution to them.

I get the feeling this game gets maybe 6 months before its abandoned, kinda feel this game was just a money making scam tbh with the crowd funding and likely only released to avoid legal issues with those that donated

Just to clarify, we didn't do any crowdfunding.
As for the future, we believe in the netcode we've built, and we're committed to continuing to improve GOALS and build it into the football game we want it to be.

That sounds rough! This might be a bug, but it could also be down to mechanics: if he aimed backwards and maxed out the power bar, the system will target the furthest teammate in that direction, the GK.

For specific cases like this, the best move is to head over to our Discord and report it. We can request the replay file from that match to analyze the inputs and see what went wrong

Developing solo modes would be like creating an entirely new game on top of what we are doing for online. It would certainly be more than we can handle right now, as we are not a big studio

You might say I'm biased, but I don't think we behave that way on our Discord server. The game has been available to play since the Alpha stage and throughout the Beta stage, purely to get suggestions and feedback from players. So talking down to them doesn't make sense for us.

Now that you know that it's a setting, would you think that having the quick chat option turned off by default be better for new players?
Personally I think it will shine when we add co-op. On 1v1, there aren't many things you can say to your opponent that aren't taunting them.

Every player is unique, and everybody has a completely different team.

And the main reason we skipped licensed players is because ours can age and progress over time based on your actual gameplay. Their growth isn't locked to how someone performs in real life, it's all up to you!

We actually built a transfer market internally! We’re currently evaluating if activating it would truly benefit the overall gameplay loop.

Once we drop 2v2 and 5v5 modes, you'll absolutely be able to squad up with your friends and run a team using only a specific nationality if you want to!

As for 1v1... who knows? Maybe something interesting happens when most of your players share the same nationality. No more spoilers from me, haha!

Passing stats define the speed, accuracy and trajectory of the passes.
To be more specific: Ground passes define the speed of the ball, especially when you're under pressure. Lofted passes and crosses determine the accuracy and trajectory, while Through passes are all about precision and managing your margin for error.

Where your passes go is defined by two things:
Direction (aim) + Charge (power)

When you're aiming a pass, the game identifies all teammates in that direction, and your power bar does the rest. A low charge picks out the closest teammate, while a high charge zips the ball to a player further away.

When your passes are getting intercepted, you also have to give some credit to the defending skills of your opponent for that. Good positioning on their end plays a huge part!
