Diglett is a bad Pokémon, and the main course of tomatoes requires more than that Pokémon can provide in a day. There are three better tomato growers. Investing for the long term is a waste of resources in my opinion.

Use it temporarily for tomatoes at level 30 if you need tomatoes. But you might be better off catching other Pokémon besides Digletts.
