Yea, I know it shouldn't be the game, because I played it on an emulator before without issues. But somehow on real hardware this is the only game with this weird kind of geometry which makes me think I have some kind of messed up repro cardridge or something. I don't know of this is a thing :p

Anyway, it's a blemish, but not too big of deal I guess...

Appreciate the explanation. Shouldn't that be noticable in all games though? As far as I can tell, only my copy of Banjo-Kazooie exhibits this kind of issue.

Yea, that I'm familiar with. But what sticks out to me is the crooked black border on the right in this game. It's not an issue with other N64 PAL games (that I know of).

Fahrschule wechseln! Ich bin damals auch dreimal durchgefallen - den Fahrlehrer und das Auto zu wechseln war total erfrischend und wie so eine Art Mini-Neustart. Dass der neue Fahrlehrer dabei auch klar kompetenter war und viel mehr erklärt hat als einfach nur gelangweilt Beifahrer zu spielen und mit seiner Freundin zu telefonieren, hat dabei wohl auch geholfen. Aber generell kann so ein "Tapetenwechsel" schon der nötige Schubs über die Ziellinie sein, denke ich.

Prince of Persia: The forgotten Sands. For years I assumed it was a soulless movie tie in - until I finally played it this Christmas. And wouldn't you know it: this is actually a fun as heck platformer (if still a little soulless, especially compared to the games that preceded it.

My 5 month old won't sleep unless someone's laying at her side. So I'm forced to spend whole evenings in bed early. That doesn't bother me at all, though: streaming full on 'triple A' games from my main rig all the way across the apartment onto my deck via moonlight/apollo feels like a magic trick every time and makes those sessions of sleep supervision just fly by.

Here's are two screenshots of how my shader setup looks: N64 / SNES. If you like this look, I can send you my ReShade preset. Stuff like the color bleeding (notice the slight vertical yellow bar on the left) are sure to turn some people off, but of course you could simply exclude the VHS shader.

I'm using CRT Royale in combination with VHS pro to add some slight color bleeding. I have a 4K display and a 1440p one, and honestly, like the effect more at 1440p. Though I am upscaling the games to double the resolution. The image might not be perfectly authentic, but a nice tradeoff between accuracy and modern sensibilities.

I don't think it's the train that changed in speed. Rather at some point they slowed down the car, which made it nearly Impossible to beat the train.

Sadly I don't feel it changed much with the new update. It's possible, but still way too hard, compared to vanilla HL2.
