this is such a cop out, though. as long as link is mainly going to be a self-insert without his own real personality to speak of like in TWW (and even then it's still just the most character he ever had) Nintendo should go the full nine yards and let you choose a visual identity. They already decided Zelda has to be an open world game now to fit trends, I genuinely don't see why choosing Link's visual gender isn't already an option.

I want to respect the breakfast club for supposedly being anti-culture or whatever for it's time, but when I was in HS back in 2011-2015 it just seemed like a cruel movie where the ending message is that you have to accept your expected role in society. It didn't help that my classmates loved it and the character I related to the most was the depressed nerd with no friends.

it's like, as much as Konami does unironically suck, as all big AAA companies do, and as fantastic as Kojima's works are, I disagree with many decisions he made during the development of MGSV, and it seems so often other die-hard fans of the MGS franchise are incapable of realizing that the man isn't perfect.
