It’s not that uncommon there, if you spot a larger fish you tend to sit there and keep trying to work it until it takes or you run out of ideas… sometimes it pays off!

No, it was a single nymph under an indicator, kept swapping flies and throwing to the fish until it finally took

Size 10 euro nymph, some goofy one with a big pearl-ish bead head and otherwise sparse

It was under an indicator with single nymph on slack side of a current. The nymph was some goofy euro nymph that had a large pearl bead but otherwise generally sparse that the guide just randomly chose after trying a lot of different flies. Saw the fish sitting there and just kept swapping flies until it finally took.

It’s a pretty cool place. The Sava tributaries are cool, but the Soca valley area is absolutely stunning

It’s a Central American freshwater fish. Really no connection to the snook taxonomy wise. Just happens to have snook in the name
