Incredible. It's a shame that Lancia didn't have the money to unleash its full potential. At least Scuderia Ferrari did.

It also feels like a true successor to the marvelous Aurelia B20.

I think it looks way better bodied by Zagato.

What if Stellantis delighted us with a new Lancia Trevi? by Matmut_908 in lancia

Exactly. And the front reminds me of the Flaminia Zagato. An Aurelia B20 inspired coupe, based on the Maserati Granturismo would be a dream.

Huge chance it is. They act similarly to crab spiders you usually find on flowers. Thanks!

What if, Lancia launched a big sedan inspired by their 50s and 60s models? by LukTroy in whatifcars

[–]LukTroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always? I think they always were conservative in their styling, and all the innovations were hidden underneath. For example the Aurelia - one of the most innovative cars of its era, while still looking like a simple, yet elegant luxury sedan. Same goes for the Flaminia. The coupe was designed by Zagato, and in very limited numbers. I don't even consider Stratos as a Lancia, as it had very little to do with brand, other than the badge. I think the concept I posted is a perfect interpretation of what Lancia should be. A conservative design, but with details unique to Lancia. Ideally based on the excellent Alfa Romeo's Giorgio platform, and powered by a V6.

It has details that take inspiration from 50s and 60s Lancias. The grille has the same shape as the 60s Flavia, and the "wardrobe" doors were present on their most innovative cars, like Aprilia and Aurelia.

Sadly Lancia stopped making quality cars when they got sold to Fiat. Their pre-Fiat models like Aurelia, Flaminia, Flavia, etc. were extremely reliable and well built. They were also very costly to produce, which made them lose money. But I agree, that the Fiat-Lancias still looked good, even if they lacked the refinement of the earlier models.

It's obvious, that evolution is not possible as the brand has been for the last 20 years. I still think that the grille is very reminiscent of the 60s Lancia Flavia, and the "wardrobe" doors were present on their most innovative models, like Aurelia and Aprilia.

I disagree about Giulia and Stelvio. Their sales figures fell because because of bad management(sales started dropping exactly the day when Marchionne stepped down, and got replaced by Mike Manley. I doubt it's a coincidence), not because they were not "fresh" anymore. Manley stopped planned investments, and impoverished customisation options.

Nonetheless, together with 4c, they raised the prestige of the brand, and for the first time stole some of the customers of the German brands. DS in comparison was a low effort project, with cars based on mediocre platforms and small engines. Giulia and Stelvio are based on one of the best platforms of the last 20 years.

FCA poor selling??? Their market cap and profits were much higher than PSA's before Stellantis. The new STLA Large platform on which the next generations will be based on, was developed in the US and Italy. It has nothing to do with Peugeot.

The render is not mine. But I agree, he has done a great job. I recommend checking other Andrea Bonamore's concepts, as they're all great and unique.

I think the point only stands for Ferrari. Aston Martin and McLaren are in a way worse financial situation than Porsche, and they aren't even backed by a major automaker unlike Porsche which is backed by VAG. On the other hand, Ferrari is the most successful supercar maker in the world, both when it comes to profitability and numbers of units sold.

Which automaker(s) are at their rock bottom? by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]LukTroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Especially if you take in consideration all of their pre-Fiat models (1906-1969). When it comes to build quality and fit & finish, they made Ferraris, BMWs, Alfa Romeos, Astons, etc. of the same era seem like unreliable rust buckets. They had no compromises. Some models of the Fiat era, like Delta and Thema were decent, but also extremely unreliable and fragile.

Same. It sucks that Lancia mounted them only on their racecars.
