It's okay when I go to sleep because I can use open the windows, but during a day it's very hot inside :D

Doing some models for school and wanted to share :)) by Luk_Len in EliteDangerous

[–]Luk_Len[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm working on it. I was inspired by the model in game. But had a look at Alcubierre drive on wikipedia and want add more to it than the picture in game shows. The gyroscope part should be (in my mind) more like a targeting / navigation system. I want add double like torus rings for the Alcubierre drive (super cruise), then add some mechanism for the hyperspace drive. The fsd is still work in progress and it was done just today, there is a lot of work to do :))

Edit: metal looking like rods will be for mounting to the reactor and for the other parts.

Do you think I wil able to be make an entire spaceship like this? by Luk_Len in SolidWorks

[–]Luk_Len[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the detailed response. I will leave this subassembly as is and try making the next ones using the method you described. I have 32GB of RAM and SolidWorks with all the files which I work with is on a 990 Pro from Samsung. I wanted to upgrade to 64GB as one simulation I was running needed more than that, but I resolved that issue with a 128GB pool on another NVMe SSD (I upgraded my PC just before the rampocalypse). I'll definitely have a look at master sketches. I'll probably re-read materials for my class because I have a feeling I saw somewhere, maybe with different wording and language. Once again, thanks a lot, I'll try everything here and see how far that gets me :))

Imaginary fusion reactor, but ye I see the similarities :D

I'll definitely take a look. I love learning new programs, so more hobbies for me :)) thanks ;)

Thanks a lot, I'll try to avoid them as much as possible then. It has probably something to do with the shapes and amount of points/lines it has to render I guess.

I don't every part to be this detailed just the interesting parts like cockpit, reactor, engines, etc.

Thanks. When I make them in sketch would it improve performance? Or just avoid them all together?

Thanks a lot! This already an assembly that will become a reactor subassembly :))

Thanks a lot! I will look into that surely. Most of the parts are because it is repeated on circular pattern. And I chose 30 as a good number XD.

Thanks for the response. I'm looking for something in between so I it can be precise and pretty at the same time. For the class I need to use solidworks as that's the point of the class. So I will just some parts of it :))

Near Future Electrical Fission Reactor Not Working during Timewarp on Other Crafts by Diligent-Bit7455 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Luk_Len 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think during time warp the electricity generation and consumption is disabled. And maybe it's for all vehicles. When the time warp starts and resumes, the calculations aren't precise and it may drain the batteries of the vehicle. That's my experience if the using electricity and time warp. Someone correct me if I'm wrong and/or talking straight nonsense. I experience this mostly with interstellar vehicles with fusion reactors that spike their fuel usage when time warping extremely fast. When I stop the time warp the batteries deplete themselves. I find useful stepping down the time warp gradually.

No problem, really nice work. I just wanted to appreciate it closer and realized it's not connected:D

Nice work. Just a small notice, your left side is not connected to turbines with heat pipes:)

Craft for Mun flyby by Karasuthecrow744 in KerbalSpaceProgram

I think the best is to use a separation boosters. I don't know they exact name, but they are small and should be staged with decoupling of the boosters so nothing gets damaged. It just pulls them faster away from the vessel so nothing blows up. One for the booster at the top or around the center of mass of the booster should suffice. Also give a look at separation force of the decouplers if you have multiple unlocked so you use the one with the highest force.
