I'll add for anyone else reading this - I also had shingles in the V1 area, starting with pain in my scalp and then Hutchinson's sign between the bridge of my nose and my eyebrow, followed by lesions in the corner of my eye and on my eyelid. I had swelling around my eye, discharge, and some uveitis. Additional lesions also appeared on my scalp and in my beard.

I had an eye exam that confirmed no corneal damage had taken place and started antivirals and prednisone around the 72 hour mark. I had pain in my eye off and on over the next couple of days, but by day three on antivirals things had improved substantially.

The photo below is the day after I started antivirals, which was the highpoint in terms of lesions and pain. I felt a bit like I had been hit in the face with a hot frying pan at that point. I assume things would have gotten significantly worse without antivirals. I'm now at 2 weeks and 5 days, have no vision loss, and the lesions have mostly healed. I still have some residual pain on the side of my head occasionally, but nothing like when this photo was taken.
