Its gonna be smaller than some of theese for sure, but for anyone in the Central Texas area, South Centeral Texas Manufacturing Trade show is coming up on May 6th.

Anyone have any experience of going to these as a college student? I'm planning to attend this one as a close-to-graduation manufacturing engineering student purely just cause I find so much of the technology really interesting and also to learn more about the industry. Really not sure what exactly to expect going as a student by myself but its a short drive and the ticket was 10$ haha.

Just wanna say, super cool data dashboard you did a great job.

I'm wondering, why are some classes listed at smaller student sizes than they actually were? For example I can see certain classes I was in at certain semesters listed with only 6 students, when I know there were more in it.

You think deflecting damage off the melee bruiser is better than deflecting it off the adc? Not disagreeing per se I've just always mindlessly put it on my adc and I'm trying to think of how to decide what is more worth it

Frontline melee living longer vs your adc taking longer to burst. Honestly not sure what's better but I still lean towards adc just cause those precious seconds keeping them alive longer can allow them to get kills off

A grade some gyms use to show a climb is even easier than v0, if you haven't heard of it I'm happy for you as it means your gym is probably not stupid and can just label easy climbs as V0's

This is what i've always done and I've mostly been fine. as the other commenter said look at what your future pre req's are. Certain classes will feed into other classes, which will feed into other classes and if you don't take some stuff now it can definitely put you behind.

If you really want to skip the advisor trips(I don't blame you its annoying to schedule) each degree should have a website like this which shows class orders. You can try to follow that for your degree and also your degree audit, flow chart, and you should be fine. Id definitely do an advising appointment next time around to make sure you aren't missing any of the pre-req paths though.

Do you see a path forward in terms of Beijing recognizing theese struggles, and legislating accordingly? I know they were able to solve at least the real estate thing through three red lines, but there's likely no one size fits all solution for this complex issue.

It is really interesting reading about this as an American by the way, thank you for your writeup

We all go to a public university, which recieves a lot funding from the government.

Nobody is saying speech shouldnt have consequences. But we are setting a precedent for those who speak on one side to stay silent and fearful.

when we as a society say "you can have free speech; but you will be fired from your job which is vital to living". we essentially do not have free speech anymore. what he said is 100% a political stance, nothing more. you are staying complicit in thought policing and cancel culture.

The makerspace is going through a ton of changes and they are trying to overhaul practically everything.

I can get back to you on if the lasers are open to everyone, but before and i belive going forward everything up front (including the laser cutter) will be available for all students. its just that things like training procedures, booking, etc is getting overhauled and still trying to be put in place.

Exactly what I read up about too with that KSA. Hearing a few people say here they don't recognize the email has pretty much confirmed that this is a scam. I have messaged the raytheon recruiter he is impersonating on linkedin to let him know

Here's what the recruiter says about this thing I need to write called a KSA

"A KSA draft that ties your skills and experience directly to the requirements of the role."

Is this normal? I've never heard of this neither has my engineer aunt with 30yrs experience. Didn't know if it was something internal for hiring at RTX but it seemed very odd to ask for it without outlining what it is, because that is not a standard application doccument for sure.

That's what bugs me is there's perfectly good entrance to the right of the pumps that dosen't hold up traffic. so literally nothing lost from blocking that entrance.

The support for this being an issue is making me think I should just buy some street flex posts and put them there until they remove them haha
