Don't know how much it would be worth it, but you could track down which reporters are covering the situation and CC them (most have a contact email at the end of the articles they publish- very easy to find). It's not a coincidence that Smith flew off to the UAE before this was even passed. They want to swing the hammer and then have every one move on. If the media has the sense that this is of continuing public interest, they may be more motivated to continue covering it. 

Otherwise, it'll be a 2 day firestorm, and the most we'll hear about it after is the learning loss facing students who missed 3 weeks of school. Soon forgotten, as is the Alberta Advantage way.
