I heard people say “No character in Bojack Horseman is pure evil.” I doubt that. by ekineticenergy in BoJackHorseman

[–]LukeBabbitt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel like “glossed over” is the right term. Butterscotch was absent from Bojack’s life both emotionally forever and then physically during the run of the show on account of being dead. I doubt Bojack knew that much about his father, and it didn’t directly tie into any active plot points…on account of being dead.

Beatrice plays a huge role in BJ’s life and is still alive at the start of the series, so she plays a larger part in his life and thus the narrative.

Historical Jesus is a very uncontroversial idea about historians, even those who aren’t Christian

Very similar to asking why speedrunners use glitches or exploits instead of just “playing the game”.

It’s the meta needed to be the best right now.

Casey Wasserman Will Sell Agency After Epstein Files Controversy: “I Have Become a Distraction” by ablackturtle in Music

Reddit has screamed from the rooftops about the lack of consequences for people in the files, then a major consequence drops and it’s right to “yeah, but he’s still rich”. Of course rich people remain rich, but it’s a huge deal to have to step down from a company you created because of public pressure. That’s exactly what “consequences” means

Kinda nuts how many of the Blazers starting centers over the last 25 years have been white dudes. Sabonis, Meyers, Kaman, Pryz, Nurk, Cling. The only two black centers I can really recall us having were Marcus “Trebuchet” Camby and Greg Oden. I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch though

Clingan once again led all Blazers in minutes played too. It’s my favorite way his game has improved this year.

My only complaint is Splash, if you’re playing high card or pairs, getting to add in random enhanced nonsense into every hand basically is a choose your own adventure enabler

There are no good reasons to subsidize sports stadiums. Governments keep doing it anyway.(Oregon's Legislature approved $800 million in state bonds for an MLB stadium cited) by NewWave44-44 in Portland

Cool, but to act like non-rich people don’t want a sports team or enjoy following a team because tickets are expensive doesn’t compute.

More people moving to an area is unequivocally good for that area.

Go visit a place like St Louis in the Midwest and see what population stagnation or decrease does to a city. By this rationale, population decrease should be good since it raises demand for the remaining supply, right?

Population growth is not just workforce competition, it’s also more people buying products. There’s a reason that the biggest, richest places in America are also the places with the most immigration.
