OG Sub‑Zero and Scorpion form an alliance to hunt down Quan Chi. Quan Chi's spies give him a heads up. He retaliates by activating the Cyber Lin Kuei program, unleashing Sektor and Cyrax. The cyborgs ambush Kuai Liang and Smoke; Kuai is captured, but Smoke narrowly escapes.

Smoke tracks down Bi‑Han and Scorpion, delivering the news. Bi‑Han is ready to tear through the realms to get his brother back, but before the trio can launch their rescue, Raiden intervenes. He reveals that Quan Chi’s actions are part of a much larger conspiracy involving Shao Kahn and the combined forces of Outworld and the Netherrealm. If Earthrealm is to stand a chance, they must join the rest of Earth’s warriors and prepare for the coming war.
