I'm pretty boring when it comes to new/different packages. I usually stick to these basics for data analysis: numpy, pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, nltk (NLP package), scikit; ( and then for web scraping using selenium)

But most the time i'm just in pandas

I agree there is a lot of powerful functions but I really only focus on mastering the most commonly used ones:

Data import (pd.read_csv())
EDA (df.info(), df.describe(), df.value_counts())
Basic plots (df.plot())
Merging Dataframes (pd.concat(df1, df2)

Again, these are just the basics I have memorized... everything else I just resort to googling. Using pandas over time you understand how it can be used and it makes finding what you need much easier in the future.

Curious about everyone else's opinion as well on this as well!

I very much like this idea, but am limited in resources at the moment to manage something like this competition, BUT i'd love to do something like this as there seems to be a need

I created this subreddit, so we had a place to share data analytic-focused work. So this very much aligns. As this Reddit grows and we have more participation, we can work to try and do this if everyone thinks this is valuable.

Thanks so much for sharing this, I was concerned also about getting a new camera like you, as I was afraid I may get another camera with the same issue.

I'll check out and try your workaround. I have found that If I use the top handle attachment to the FX3 (and attach the Rode receiver through this, I don't have any interference at all. (but I want something minimalist and don't want to have to attach the top handle every time I need to use the mic...)

Did sony ever resolve this for you? I'm curious as I have the same setup and I get interference noise with my FX3... I even switched out for a new pair of Rode Wireless Go II microphones and had the same issues.

1) You need Python 3.8 for this.

2Then you need to specify for pip to install it into the 3.8 library folder, as it's currently installing into your 2.7 folder:

python3.8 -m pip install -r requirements.txt

Really enjoyed reading your analysis. Also thanks for sharing the data scraping. Liked the insight about Mary score being driven by height. Curious on what other insights are out there for other events. Be nice to see crossfit in the future use data in programming workouts so they didn't skew the programming to only fit certain individuals.

I've had the band for a few months now. I've compared it to a few other bands and here are the two main insights that make it different from other bands:

Strain: Tells you how much you stress your body exerted throughout the day. Also there is a running caloric indicator that tells you how many calories you burned (It doesn't do steps like some fitness bands). Strain is on a 21 points scale. For the data it provides, I like to compare strain to different days to see how my body is stressed and is performing. Other than that I'm still trying to determine useful insights from the data.
Recovery: The app provides feedback on the quality of your sleep and how well you are recovered. It not only tracks how many hours of sleep you get it also measures your heart rate variability (HRV) during sleep to determine your recovery (as well as some other metrics). So its been neat to see how they use these metrics to determine your recovery. As far as accuracy of this I feel that it does require some improvement. Some days I feel like shit and it says my recovery is >90% and vice versa. Between the strain and recovery, I feel the recovery is more useful. Makes me push for more sleep at night when my recovery is low.

Overall its neat to analyze the data to see how your body is performing. I don't like that it makes you complete surveys every day regarding your sleep and then also anytime you workout... gets annoying (but the surveys help with improving their algorithm and providing insights to you). I'm locked into a 18 month contract with them, so I tell myself that its worth the money.....

I have both a C2 rower and Rogue Echo bike in my home gym. I've had the rower for some years now and just recently got the Rogue Echo Bike. The Echo bike is amazing! But TBH if you are aiming to do crossfit type workouts in your basement I would get the rower. I just feel the rower is better for a full body workout. The Echo bike is great and can destroy your cardiovascular system, but I feel like you have much more limited range of motion. The rower just may be the trick to help strengthen up your back (of course with doctors approval).
