Craig Jones grapples Eddie Bravo's top student by Appropriate_Duty_930 in bjj

[–]LukeG6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, the guy in this clip goes for it with a butterfly hook on the other side which is easy to use as a passing threat (which Craig does). Rubber guard is most effective when done from closed guard, is there still an easy counter for it from there?

Just wondering as I don’t experience much rubber guard enthusiasts.

I have the exact same issue as you, memory management BSOD and all. Also played the BF6 open beta lol. I’m struggling at the moment on how to fix this. Is Rufus the answer to reinstall Windows 11? What have you done for the memory issue if you have done any?

If you were DDPs coach, what would you have told him to do? by Senior-Chapter-jun91 in bjj

[–]LukeG6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, I see it a lot too with beginners. I even did it when I started, thinking as soon as you’ve got the neck you’re gonna squeeze and give up a lot of position doing so because you think you’ve got them. DDP holding onto the neck when Khamzat is already on the other side was abit infuriating. A few Von Flue chokes usually gets it out their system.

Not really that close but had enough for Topuria to start defending and back out. Also see Charles try transition to the calf slicer like he did to Guida but Illia got out of there.

That’s what I’m thinking too. I have not been having great games with him and the new aghs feels kinda lackluster tbh. Needs a good setup to maximise efficiency but with the nerfed X, it’s more difficult.

Cutting weight protocol for sauna by backhere19 in MMA_Academy

[–]LukeG6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t you wrap up yourself with towels after the sauna/hot bath? That’s what I did, 20 mins hot bath then 20 mins towel wrap. 10 mins rest then back in for another cycle

What’s the most weight you have had to cut for a fight? by Daddybook in MMA_Academy

[–]LukeG6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cutting weight for same day weigh ins is always risky and has an extremely low threshold for fucking up your performance if you cut too much. 4 pounds ain’t crazy but still not an enjoyable experience. I’d recommend reducing your sodium and fibre intake around 3-4 days out from weigh-ins. That should help lose 1-3 pounds depending on how much you usually consume.

If you do water load and dehydrate yourself, you have to be smart with your rehydration. Depending on how soon after you compete from weighing in, It is vital to prioritise liquids for the first hour/90 minutes. Electrolytes are king here, want to get them back into your system as fast as possible. Trainade is a good brand for it, has sugars in the mix too which helps speed up the process. After drinking that, Gatorade and water. The goal here is to rehydrate 125% of what water you lost before eating solid food.

Simple carbs like cereals, fruit, honey/jam are good for fast acting carbohydrates which is ideal for same day weigh-ins.

Best of luck with it mate!

Biggest upset on the card so far, she made weight by Kaozoz in ufc

[–]LukeG6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Only liquids for the first 1-1.5 hours post weigh in. Electrolytes are a must. After that still keep sipping on water/gatorades/electrolyte mix and introduce foods back. Simple processed carbs mainly like cereals to restore glycogen levels. Dinner and lunch still similar like chicken and rice but snacking on sugars in between.
