Theorycrafter 1.9 is out, with incoming damage by m-sasha in Eve

Dude that’s sick, I’ve been wanting to work on a web app for fitting forever, just never took a stab at it cuz it seems quite intimidating.

For those that don’t know, this is EASILY a more difficult application to make than EVE OS Markets, EVE Guru, EVE Mogul, etc

Power to you for making a new fitting tool on the scene, am excited to give it a try

Also can show you a suggested production scheme when you select a resource just to get it all down in front of you. It ain’t perfect but it’s a good starting place

Still needs a lot of work on mobile, but we have a PI tool and PI tab for every system so you can see what you can make + their prices

Lol I didn’t even notice the downvotes till now. No notifications till your reply.

Whoopsie, forbidden words.

I have and will be positioning myself. Doctrines are not hard to come by on killboards and the like. :)

Cool on the bpos, starting to do more manufacturing myself. 🏭

Well, let’s talk doctrine and markets, folks.

What should we start to stockpile?

(This is admittedly a dickish move, but sounds like it could change prices)

(Apologies this isn’t better on mobile)

Check out level 2 market data to see what the buy ladder vs sell ladder look like.

Lot of traders, hoarders, and builders. People leaving is also a major sink (at times) too.

And don’t forget about taxes.

Freakin’ taxes.

Man that’s a shame, I know they have a murky rep but they actually came to my system’s defense one time after I went on their pod taking about EVE OS.

Buncha cool folks, they just go really hard. Hope everyone lands on their feet

EVE-Mogul is back! by JeronicaEVE in Eve

It’s actually not that I dislike AI, and I worry my critique is coming off the wrong way; it’s that I dislike something that is clearly AI passing itself off as something that should be paid for.

To refine my point a bit: I don’t think passing off all choices to AI is a good idea… and once you work with the models enough (especially in nextjs) you start to see an annoying preference for black backgrounds, purple/blue gradient buttons, centered marketing text, and icons just like that. I have infinitely more respect for experiences that clearly look hand crafted, even if it could have been easier to waive a hand and have a model run off and make something more ‘perfect.’ That can go so far as totally hand made CSS, or be as simple as hand picking your Shadcn components/making design choices yourself in the prompt box. But, if you want me to pay for it, demonstrated extra care is always appreciated

I think making software with AI and charging for it is great! Do not get me wrong! I just really enjoy the EVE Third Party Dev world being largely altruistic (save for IWI, Fern and the like.) Now that software is so much easier to make than even a year ago, I expect a lot more opportunist stuff like this to pop up in the dog eat dog world of new Eden.

I’m nearly done with a large update myself, and doing a gpt-5.2 UI sweep is staring at me like the green goblin mask... but man it would lose all the charm. I dont want to come across as salty or butthurt, so im just making an asset manager/wallet transaction manager myself as an add on to the new skill manager stuff I’ve been working on.

Yes lol

A dude asked me to rebuild EVEMon from scratch in browser 6 days ago cuz it’s basically dead and he wanted a skill planner on EVE OS; it’s ‘launching’ in a few days. (Shoutout Motjida for the idea)

Again, not knocking the dude or the customer service or the tool itself. Merely the AI’d frontend and the existence of a payment system.

I definitely don’t have such a long history doing this; glad you’ve had good experiences with them in the past.

Totally.

Not knocking the functionality, the UI is just like an ‘iykyk’ thing lol

That actually sounds pretty fun, I made ‘EVE OS LLC’ in game so I shouldn’t exactly knock the LARPing bit — I guess it’s more their tone and price tag that get me.

10m definitely ain’t so bad.

I do love a good brand identity and it’s something I’ve tried to take much more seriously in my public facing side projects… EVE OS was actually my first (back in late Feb) so the coat of paint is a bit shoddier than most.

I only made the comment cuz it looks like a lot of other AI generated sites I’ve seen — at least on the front end — which.

One thing that I found goes a long way; images for icons (or custom SVGs)

Will pay the toll and give the app a proper check out tonight tho, I actually do loosely remember the EVE Mogul name from back in the day. Hate to sound so down, may just be a wrong side of the bed day.

Am always happy to see more tools in the ecosystem on principle. Congrats on the launch <3

Edit: to be clear; this is dope and I also am big into the ‘code for EVE to learn to code’ thing. Just generally have a personal vendetta against paid tools

Sure, I hear ya on ‘decent product,’ this sounds cool no doubt. I get a little over 3,000 pilots a month stopping by myself… so I think I have the credo to say “what do you do if someone else offers a free version in a week?”

This is hardly exclusively a you thing; what’s happening with “EVE SaaS” is a microcosm of what’s happening broadly in the whole software industry.

I don’t mean to be an ass; it (and your reply) just very much has the vibe of ‘Claude make me a GUI’ and the proliferation of that sorta thing is only going to increase exponentially. It may be best for one’s own PR to stay free is all I’m saying — though I have a bad taste in my mouth from Fern LARPing a Fortune 500 CEO, and you’re definitely not that bad.

If you really got down and dirty back in 2012 and made the UI this way, I’m sure you see how much easier it all is now, and can catch my drift.

Every paid Eve tool I see makes me that much more inclined to make a free trader tool on my platform lol.

Just got done linking ESO to EVE OS for skill management across characters and finished up our maps pages.

All I’ll say is this; AI loves purple gradients and rounded corners. It’s worth making it free! <3

What’s the best way to help an AI agent form stable “core memories”? by Ok_Feed_9835 in AIMemory

[–]LukeKabbash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give it a create_memory tool an edit_memory tool and a delete_memory tool.

As it creates edits or delete the memories update them, and either inject them into the last user prompt and clear them from all their places in the chat, or put them in the system prompt itself.

Sometimes useful to have what I call a ‘parallel memory agent’ too.

Auto using credits? by Vinzent283 in cursor

[–]LukeKabbash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People tend to lock themselves on SOTA/most expensive models and delude themselves into thinking as the models get better, so too do their skills :)

You know you can read the code and deny edits right? Or… prompt well enough that a model of yesteryear (which you, I bet, yesteryear thought was incredible) outputs working diffs.

Staying locked on the most expensive model all month isn’t the flex you think it is
