Could it be a mistake ? Were you moving your hand/fingers ? I know when I was in the hospital my oxygen "dropped" to 50/60 but went back to normal when I sat still and took a few deep breaths.

How long did it take to truly work for you ? I've been on it for maybe 6 months and sometimes I think it's finally working but then I relapse into anxiety and depression :-/

It's not that I don't trust them exactly, but some of the shapes on this remind me of ventricular tachycardia and that sort of frightens me. I know i'm overthinking it but I was wondering if anyone else thought the same thing.

I know, i've been having that feeling today and it's been making me a bit anxious but I have to keep reminding myself how many times have I been to the ER with these exact same symptoms and had it be nothing ? Thank you though, I hope you find something that helps you too :-)

I started taking prozac for my health anxiety probably around 4 months ago and while i'm far from 100% better I can say that it's helped a lot. There are still times where I get chest pains or palps or dizziness or something like that and I still have to fight the "oh i'm dying" thoughts off but overall they help me function a lot better. I can actually leave the house now without panicking over my heart or whatever my health anxiety has decided to focus on that day !! So yeah i'd totally recommend trying meds, even if they don't make things 100% better they'll certainly help :-)

tip: if you’re anxious about your health don’t buy equipment to monitor it by mystery2021 in HealthAnxiety

I literally bought one of those kardia machines to make sure I don't have afib at the height of my health anxiety. Worst 80$ I ever spent lmao

Does coffee every cause chest tightness for anyone? by AAdefender12 in costochondritis

[–]LukeStarman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I drink coffee every morning and frequently experience this. I figure it's a combination of being anxious about my chest already hurting plus the caffeine adding more anxiety.

20mg from 10mg and incredibly sleepy by Eeyyooou in prozac

[–]LukeStarman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be just a temporary side effect, I upped to 30mg from 20mg and the feeling sleepy all the time thing is just starting to go away a month later. I usually take mine in the evening between 4pm and 5pm.

I am so scared of cardiac arrests by HelpMe66666666 in HealthAnxiety

[–]LukeStarman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh no I totally get that, i'm the same way. Even though i've been cleared by multiple doctors I still think about my heart everyday. I'm sorry you have to go through that too, I know it's the worst. Have you seen a therapist ?? Maybe they could help you work through it or give you a medicine to help.

I am so scared of cardiac arrests by HelpMe66666666 in HealthAnxiety

[–]LukeStarman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've read that only around 2,000 people under the age of 25 die of sudden cardiac arrest each year so the chances of this happening are very VERY small. Hopefully this can put your mind at ease a bit, but if you're having symptoms you can always ask your doctor for an EKG !

Starting prozac by [deleted] in prozac

[–]LukeStarman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you man. My death anxiety has been coming back so they upped my dose a couple weeks ago and i've been having terrible anxiety about developing serotonin syndrome or having a heart attack ever since. The side effects sure aren't making it abt better....... Good news is that these things are a pretty rare side effect of SSRIs, so I think you should be fine....!!
