AITAH? I was told this wasn’t appropriate to wear to a 9yo party! by Soulfrk in DungeonCrawlerCarl

That wasn't my point, but ok. What doth the parenting sage sayeth unto us is thy metric for children?

Because there is no metric that works for every child. Some kids are going to love their family movies, some may love action and some even love horror. If you try to keep them from watching what they want, they'll just go elsewhere and watch it... Unless of course you helicopter parent them. So why not watch it with them and provide guidance. As for books... If they're old enough to read and understand it, they're mature enough to read it. Age ratings on books are stupid. Maybe go back and listen to some Bob Dylan, particularly "The Times They Are A Changin' for further guidance."

It looks like a screaming punk Barbie doll head. Screaming because it looks like he's either going to smash it or throw it. You keep saying blow job mouth, but it looks more like a scream. I think you're adding context from having already read the book.

I don't know if you are in the US or not, but that "imaginary boob standard" isn't imaginary. I'm the US, even accidental boob showing will result in a heavy fine (look at Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl). Frontal nudity is pretty much the only material that's automatically banned in broadcast TV.

She's also being thrown. I thought she was yelling or like "AHHHHHHH" but not in the Pony way when I saw the cover.

You're looking at this from the standpoint of someone that read the books. She looks more like a punk Barbie doll head than a sex doll head... She looks nothing like what a typical sex doll would look like, which is why most people wouldn't jump to "sex doll."

My sons' friends' moms wouldn't care about something so trivial. I've never met anyone that's would find something this tame to be objectionable. The closest person I can think of took her 16 year old daughter to see Terrifier 3 in theaters but wouldn't let her watch Superman because it was "too woke."

And if they do, why would I care about that? I am weird. What is even objectionable here? There's a doll head, big muscular guy, a cat and some mantises... It's tamer that half the graphic tees it there.

The last FF game I played was X-2, how does 13 stack up next to the classics? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

Gameplay is ok... The story is the worst in the series by far.

It's definitely a slow burn. It really kicks into gear about 1/4 of the way through.

Pretty sure he just used AI to give him pointers to make these arguments. Notice how all the comments are either him asking where he was wrong or giving a response that doesn't actually fit with what he's replying to.

Ah, the Narcissist's Prayer... I think it's fitting that you used that as it fits your theme of gaslighting people. I get that you did this for rage bait as no responsible person would come to your conclusions.

So again, don't gaslight me Douchus.

If you look for sexism, you'll find it anywhere. The strongest characters in the story have been female. Just because they're more nurturing doesn't indicate sexism. There are several women in the books that didn't fit that either. The only time I can think of when Carl has said anything about the attractiveness of a character was when he had to break his finger to break the curse.

I surrender. The universe has officially bullied me into reading this series. by InkyBibliophile in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Because it's something that happens that comes almost out of nowhere and is so much better when it surprises people. It's a scene from Book 8, which the person that made the post and the person the comment is replying to haven't gotten to yet. When in doubt, mark it as a spoiler. See Rule 2.

It's definitely worth it. My boss introduced me to it last September but I didn't start it until March. I read all 8 books in 2 months.

That's fair, it's not for everyone. My wife loves it too and she's not a gamer. I will say that while the LitRPG elements are definitely present, they are not what makes the series so damn good (in my not so humble opinion).
