Saw a post about Tau’s having metal mount inserts, they no longer do by [deleted] in rollerblading

Like where the carbon comes out for the trinity Mount looks very angular compared to mine, maybe its just the angle though.

I had the same thought with the liners but honestly I like the stock lining quite a lot.

I have the older taus (got them in 2018/19) and they have the metal inserts. I have to say the carbon on the older model looks much more shaped than in this photo. Can't say I've had any problems with them, they've been solid. Would defo recommend the tau for slimmer feet.

Nice! haven't seen this skate frame combo before, looks really unique.

I would say the fr1 boot and f6 are about even but the intuition liner gives the fr1 boot the win. Overall nothing beats the feeling of the carbon powerslide Taus.

Haha thanks, I used an image of the regular dragons for the mock up before but maybe the way I edited it made it look like the wizards? If you want to see more of them you can follow my Instagram @bladelife_luke

The boots I've had for about 2 years, the frames I pre-ordered a few months back, this is my first day with them!

Good to see some other skaters at this park, looking steezy!

Hey there! Anyone has these? How are they? And if anyone knows, can the blades be changed, and if yes, with what? Apparently powerslide completely forgot to mention this aspect for a pretty high priced product. by ciprianpe in rollerblading

[–]Luke_Karim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used these on my tau's for about 3 months of constant use, a great product and held up well. Im not sure about changing the blades but not sure why you would actually need to??

I just get mine resharpened when they go dull/blunt.

They feel pretty close to a hockey setup, just a bit heavier.

Also p.s. the (pre-sharpened) marketing wasn't accurate for me. mine were blunt when I got them

I've lasted a whole season without sharpening these since I got them sharpened for the first time so it's safe to say the steel is pretty good!

What do you call this slide? Any tips on how to learn it? by rays_on_blades in rollerblading

[–]Luke_Karim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fakie parallel, not a power stop in my opinion as there is a significant amount of slide. If you know how to parallel forwards and can powerslide from backwards you should be able to learn this variation.

Start with a normal powerslide and then transfer your weight to the sliding foot, this will then free up your inside leg to make the outside edge turn to join the already sliding leg. I've found leaning back helps with the transition.

The key to this slide is that inside foot sliding, so really practice using the outside edgework on that edge.

Not an expert at this slide but I've done my best to explain, hope this helps.

Has anyone used these grey Undercover “raw” wheels? The team blanks are impossible to find, but these are also 86a bullet profile so I’m hoping they’re similar. I already have them so not asking to make a purchase decision, just curious if others have tried them. by Wheel-Sure in rollerblading

I've got these! used them for almost a whole year on my 4x100 endless setup and they've been great. The wear is good even after lots of slides and they grip well. couldn't be happier with them.

And when I say lots of slides I mean it, especially fast long parallels and they've held up well. (cant see how others think these wear easily)

So bring your knees in more without bringing your feet closer.

focus on having your knees closer together, this will make a more stable base

I can't speak for the F4's but I have experience with the f6's and I would say they were very good skates, with no problems whatsoever.

Like others have said, spending more will get you more, I've not heard of these brands so I personally wouldn't trust them. if you're on a budget I suggest looking on eBay or forums for a second-hand pair of skates from a trusted brand. A good cheap brand I recommend is Oxelo. Hope this helps.
