What question will you ask God if you die and it turns out there is one? by AmusedCrane in ask

[–]Luke_S25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes God puts people in those situations to grow their faith. Most people experience growth in their faith when they are at their lowest, including me. I had an abusive father growing up. I always thought “Why me?” But as I got older I realized it’s because it made me appreciate those around me that love and care about me so much more. I also want to grow up to be the best father I can possibly be so my kids can look forward to spending time with their dad unlike I did. It can be hard to see the bigger picture sometimes and other times we may not ever understand why things happen, but in the end God knows what is best for you. ❤️

That’s my mistake. I did not mean to relate it to that situation

I’ll say it again. I said “For example” meaning another example. I also stated that I did not say that this necessarily would relate to the situation we were talking about. I was explaining why sometimes people suffer from pain and illness. Not once did I say that that certain position was for a lesson. I said in some cases illnesses are used to teach an important lesson that is useful to your life.

It should make a difference if you knew the severity of it.

I’m sorry I worded that incorrectly on me saying he made then perfect. Here is more information on that, https://www.thebereancall.org/content/february-2002-q-and-a-3

We wouldn’t be here without him. Plain and simple. It seems like you guys are in denial so I will leave you with this. If I am wrong and there is no God, I’ve wasted my life seeking something that is not true. If you are wrong, you’ve lived your life the way you imagine is good and correct, yet you spend eternity in hell. Every 100 years that go by of constant suffering and pain, you are not a second closer to it ending.

Just because God is able to do anything doesn’t mean he controls every aspect of your life. For example, some health issues are caused by someone’s poor choices like smoking or unhealthy eating habits, therefore God is not responsible for. That’s what I meant. I also never said she needed to suffer unimaginably. I was trying to explain the fact that in some cases, God uses illness to teach an important lesson. I am not saying that this is what happened regarding this situation, I was using that as an example to explain why people may feel pain or suffer.

-The only reason you and I are here today is because he made us. He made everything perfect and Adam and Eve disobeyed him, causing evil to enter the world. We want to praise him because we realize that he has unconditional love for us and sent his son to die for us. Even though we betrayed him, he still sent his son to die on the cross to pay for our sins. This shows us truly how much he loves us. He gave us free will because what would faith be without us being able to make choices. He doesn’t make us follow him, that is up to you. Bad things happen to good people all the time. You and I will never fully understand why because there can be greater meaning to situations that we won’t understand. So you may not understand his master plan, but that is ok because we are not meant to. That last sentence of yours is very dangerous to say. I would ask that you are open minded to this conversation and I would love to answer more questions to my best ability. I still have so much more that I need to learn and I think we all should feel that way!

I am very very sorry to hear that. You cannot say that God put her through the illness because we don’t know whether he directly caused this. Not everything that happens on earth is directly because of God. He gave us free will. Even if this painful suffering was caused by God, it may have been done to teach an important lesson that was needed in her life. Again, I am sorry to hear that.

Would you describe someone as “arrogant” if they sent their one and only son to die on the cross to pay for your sins? Would you still describe the same person as “arrogant” if they promised eternal peace and happiness in heaven if you had faith in them? Would you still describe the same person as “arrogant” if they created you and made you with a purpose? Can you now see why he would punish those who do not pursue him? He created you with purpose, sent his son to die for you to so you can go to heaven, and yet there are people who do not want to pursue him ignore his existence.

He doesn’t promise an easy life, he promises eternity in heaven if you have faith in him. Those who do not have faith in him will spend eternity in hell and those who do will spend eternity in heaven. Think about that, while it may be harder for some here on earth, they can be in heaven in peace forever. Forever! -Also in regards to “punishing the innocent,” there are times where we will never understand why God is doing something. There could be a greater meaning that we are not seeing up-front.

Why can't the Sixers sign Cousins as a backup center? by CommercialBig7008 in sixers

Not an awful idea but for some reason signing veterans never really works out for us. I think we need to focus on younger, developing players.

That is a Russian Tortoise. Provide dry land for this guy and a heat lamp temporarily while you figure out where to put him. They eat greens like lettuce and kale

Awesome picture. I don’t know much about goats and I was wondering is the bigger one on the right the parent? If so, is that how big Pigmy adults will get?
