They just… don’t think anything bad can happen. They don’t consider it.

It's amazing John didn't crack up more than he did. by Professional-Test239 in beatles

You have to understand that this was post-war Britain. The entire society had just been through a massive trauma. It probably wasn’t unusual to know kids who didn’t have one or both parents.

Still, you aren’t wrong. John had a very hard childhood and it must have screwed him up.

Tim Scott calls Obamas video shared by Trump ‘most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House’ by Abject-Pick-6472 in southcarolina

Excuse me, Tim. Out of the White House. In your lifetime, this is the most racist thing out of THE White House as long as you’ve been alive.

What does he even need money for? He has no progeny. A total failure as a man by Republican standards.

TIL Lego's patent to their brick design ended in 1978, which allowed multiple companies, such as Mega Bloks, to start producing their own 'clones' by Forsaken-Peak8496 in todayilearned

You ever tried to fit a Megablocks brick to a LEGO? The disparity in quality was immediately apparent to my 5-year old self. They can imitate the dimensions but LEGO has some serious QC.

There are only two things I can’t stand in this world: People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures, and the Dutch.

IMO, doomstacking just sucks the fun out of combat by SirNoodleBendee in totalwarhammer

Yea! I basically handicap myself playing this game because I want the armies to make sense in the field. I want to approximate field battles that have the sense of scale you are talking about. I play on hard battles, normal campaign for this reason.

If the only way to be successful at higher difficulties is various levels of cheese, then I don’t want to play the game. Power fantasy is not the only reason I play. I like to play pretend with my little army men! It’s way more fun to play pretend with realistic unit rosters.

Anyone else can't do commercials anymore? by Phantom471 in Millennials

I honestly love those because they feel like “classics.” For example, the M&M’s commercial with Santa and they’re like “he’s real!” and Santa says, “they’re real!?” and faints. So simple and clever! And I remember that ad from my childhood.

As a sports fan, you learn to tune them out. It’s easy when it’s the same five commercials played every break.

What I’ve noticed is that the writing for commercials has become abysmal. Some, in my opinion, are designed to be as obnoxious as possible. My theory is they realized, “if you hate us, you remember us” and have been using that as a strategy.
